Fisher Investments offers a robust benefits package and recognition program — a combined offering referred to as “total rewards.” By focusing on career development, inclusion, appreciation, and individual wellness, the firm helps make it possible for its team members to achieve their personal goals — in and outside of the workplace.
Fisher Total Rewards: Taking Care of the ‘Whole You’
While employees at Fisher stay busy building their careers and connecting with their peers, they’re also taking care of their health, happiness, and stability.
Fisher Investments’ Total Rewards Program Manager Laurel H. said the firm takes care of the “whole you” by offering a benefits package that encourages physical, emotional, and financial well-being. Included in these benefits are 100 percent employer-paid medical premiums, dental and vision coverage for employees and their family members, as well as a 50 percent 401(k) match up to the IRS maximum. Additionally, team members have plenty of time to unwind with generous paid holidays and PTO, and they can take advantage of paid parental leave, adoption assistance, and childcare benefits.
According to Laurel, these benefits are intended to suit the individual needs of every Fisher employee. The firm knows that priorities differ among team members depending on their circumstances, so they have put together a benefits package that encompasses all life stages.
Design Your Career
Fisher Investments supports lifelong careers by offering flexible career paths and opportunities.
Internal Talent Advisor Justin R. noted the organization offers a wide range of training resources, which help take employees beyond the scope of their daily work. For instance, the firm’s Career Counseling Program allows employees to talk directly with firm leaders about their career growth trajectory.
Fisher also offers a Job Shadow Program, enabling team members to network with colleagues in different departments and learn about their roles. Justin said Fisher also offers multi-week bridge programs which enable employees to experience the day-to-day work required of other positions and, in many cases, successfully transition into new roles.
Community and Celebration
Understanding that employees’ talents and hard work are the key to business success, Fisher facilitates authentic recognition across every department.
Recognition Program Manager Erin H. said the firm adheres to a recognition framework that celebrates wins of all sizes. This framework is composed of five pillars: moments, milestones, teams, celebrations, and C.O.R.E. (“Celebrating Our Remarkable Employees”) values.
The firm believes that every single impactful moment — every client interaction or innovative idea — drives progress. Using social recognition platform Stellar, and many other methods to show appreciation for great work, employees can highlight their teammates who have played a part in shaping these crucial moments.
Of course, these moments are only made possible when a team balances hard work with fun. Fisher helps ensure team members connect with each other regularly, encouraging leaders to host team-building activities and events.
Employees also participate in larger gatherings that recognize collective achievements, whether that takes the form of an office event or an off-site meeting. The firm also celebrates individual successes — such as work anniversary milestones, which are commemorated with a personalized certificate, magnet, and gift.
For individual recognition, Fisher’s C.O.R.E. Awards program acknowledges the firm’s highest-performing team members, who are nominated by their peers. After these nominations have been reviewed by a committee of previous winners, finalists are chosen. At the end of the year, winners are ultimately decided by a committee of global volunteers from across the firm, a final tier of review that helps elevate the recognition.
Inclusion and Belonging
Inclusion and belonging are also key values in Fisher’s culture. Part of the firm’s vision statement reads, “To succeed, we must have an inclusive culture, actively developing and supporting diversity across the vast spectrum of human differences, creating a place of authentic belonging for all.”
The firm supports that statement through a variety of resources and initiatives, including a dedicated D&I Program, with focus areas on talent acquisition, development, and engagement. The firm is also testing Employee Resource Groups and has created a program to recognize, celebrate and educate employees about culturally significant holidays around the world.
Fisher trains all employees on core diversity and inclusion concepts, and holds Inclusive Leadership Workshops for all people managers. Fisher delivers two annual surveys administered by third parties: An Inclusion Index Survey and the Great Place to Work® survey. These surveys give employees the opportunity to provide anonymous feedback on our efforts to always be a great and inclusive workplace where all feel they belong.
Lastly, “Values Differences” is a core competency at FI, expected of all employees, to ensure differences are valued. Employees are able to use our recognition platform to recognize other employees who embody this core value.
A TOP-TIER WORKPLACE
Earlier this year, the firm earned a spot on Built In’s lists of Best Places to Work in Dallas and Best Large Places to Work in Dallas, both of which recognize companies who offer the best total rewards programs and compensation packages among their peers.
From career development to inclusivity, Fisher strives to prioritize the most important aspects of its employees’ lives in an effort to champion its greatest asset — its people. Laurel explained, “When evaluating total rewards at Fisher, the firm strives to attract and retain the highest-caliber talent with inclusive rewards that focus on what matters most.”
