When Software Engineer Misha Blank joined EliseAI, he was struck by what he saw on his first day at the company.
It was the company’s vice president of engineering and chief technology officer coding alongside the company’s engineers, reflecting a culture rooted in meritocracy.
“It was in that moment that I knew this was the right place — a company where everyone, no matter their title, feels equally empowered to contribute to our mission,” he said.
Since his first day, Blank has had countless opportunities to own important projects and directly impact key decisions alongside equally passionate colleagues. And as the company’s engineering department grows, he shared, he and his peers aim to welcome new team members who are “proactive, adaptable and eager to learn.”
While technology itself is key to a company’s success, it’s the people behind the products that compel people to join a company — and stay for the long run. That was the case for Ben Fischer, senior engineering director of foundational services, when he onboarded at Doximity as a software engineer 10 years ago. Even after a decade, he still remembers what he initially thought of his new colleagues.
“When I first joined, I remember being really impressed by how intelligent everyone was,” Fischer said.
This intelligence has given way to impactful work, which he and his teammates get to pursue every day, empowered by a culture that encourages them to challenge themselves — and recognizes their talent. Fischer said that his team is in the process of seeking out new team members to help cultivate this supportive culture by bringing their unique perspectives to the table.
Below, Blank and Fischer share more about what drew them to EliseAI and Doximity, their favorite aspects of working at these companies and the advice they’d give to job seekers interested in joining their teams.

What’s your favorite part about working at Doximity?
This is a tough question. I really appreciate seeing people get recognized for doing impactful work. I think Doximity is a company that helps lift people up and challenges them to take on new responsibilities when they are ready for it. People get shoutouts every week on our company calls and in our Slack channels. People care about the right things and prioritize the right things, so I think that’s why we have good vibes.
What advice would you give to jobseekers looking to join your growing team?
My advice is simple. I would tell people to just bring the real you to the interview! Our teams are more successful when people think differently. Instead of trying to sound like a textbook, tell me about the unique experiences you have had that helped you grow.
