HomeAway acquired by Expedia for $3.9B

HomeAway has agreed to a $3.9 billion offer from Expedia. The Bellevue, Washington-based travel giant has offered $38.31 per share to acquire the Austin-based rental property network, whose localized sites span 190 countries. [Built In Austin]
 

Edgecase raises $7.5M

Edgecase received Austin tech’s third largest funding in October. CEO Susanne Bowen said in a statement that the company plans to expand its workforce by 50 percent in the coming year, especially in sales and marketing, to support its growth. Qvinci raises $3.4M for hiring

The enterprise accounting software company plans to use the capital from 15 investors for hiring. Qvinci allows users to pull consolidated reports from QuickBooks and other software on multiple locations of a business to detect troubling trends early on. [Austin Business Journal]
 

Howdy raises $1.5M for slackbot service
