4 Austin startups raise funding

Within the last week, four Austin startups collectively raised over $8 million in funding. On Thursday, Shipwell, a freight shipping software provider, raised $2 million, and ePatient Finder, a clinical trial recruitment platform, raised $2.6 million. Tecovas, an online retailer of handmade western style boots, also added $2.6 million in funding on Friday. Then on Monday, end-to-end AI platform developer Bitfusion raised $1 million. [FormDs]

New tech incubator launches locally

Venture capitalist Oksana Malysheva launched a new Austin startup incubator called Sputnik ATX. The Y Combinator-modeled incubator will begin accepting applications this month for its first class of five to 10 entrepreneurs. Those selected will compete for $100,000 in seed funding in exchange for an equity stake. Sputnik will work with entrepreneurs within a 300-mile range of Austin. Applications will close in December. OneSpot wins startup pitch competition

Austin startup OneSpot recently won Advertising Week’s StartUp Pitch Competition, beating out 14 other companies. OneSpot’s content sequencing platform provides personalized and predictive content marketing to enterprise clients, including Nestle, IBM, Whole Foods, L’Oréal and Delta Faucet. [Press Release]

Main Street Hub announces new HQ location

On Friday, Main Street Hub announced its plans to move into a new Austin office with room for more than 1,000 employees. The company has two local offices and one in NYC and will consolidate all offices into a new 114,000-square-foot building on the East Side, starting in 2019. [Press Release]

ESO Solutions acquires emergency management products from Conduent

Austin-based ESO Solutions, an emergency medical services software provider, has acquired Firehouse Software. Firehouse launched in 1997 and provides incident reporting and records management for fire departments. All Firehouse employees will join ESO as part of the acquisition. This deal makes ESO the largest software provider exclusively serving the fire, pre-hospital and hospital market. [Press Release]

Asure Software acquires Associated Data Services

Human Capital Management (HCM) and workplace management solutions provider Asure Software acquired Alabama-based Associated Data Services (ADS). ADS provides human resources and payroll services to small and medium-sized businesses in the greater Birmingham area and is a reseller of Asure’s HCM solution, Evolution. [Press Release]

Facebook signs new lease, doubling size in Austin

On Friday, Facebook announced it had signed a lease for a larger Austin office space at the new development Third + Shoal. The company will take up 10 of the 29-stories with room for 1,500 employees. Facebook’s current office at 300 West Sixth St. takes up four floors for its 700 employees. Construction is scheduled to be completed by third quarter 2018. [Built In Austin]
