As a testament to its exponential growth, FareHarbor announced that it plans to move into a new Denver headquarters five times the size of its current space. The company has carved out a large share in its niche — online reservations for outdoor activity operators. Fanatics locks in unicorn status by closing $1B funding round
Sports e-commerce giant Fanatics recently announced it has landed a $1 billion round of funding. SoftBank Group’s Vision Fund led the round, with an assist from the National Football League and Major League Baseball. The company was valued at $4.5 billion, placing it securely in the unicorn category. Although headquartered in Florida, Fanatics has an office in Boulder, where it plans to add several new developers to the team. [TechCrunch]
Zayo Group acquires Westminster data center and announces new CFO
This week, communications infrastructure provider Zayo Group made two major announcements. The Boulder-based company first announced the acquisition of a new 29,500 square foot data center in Westminster, purchased to accommodate increasing local demand. It also named Matt Steinfort as its next chief financial officer. Steinfort joined as executive vice president of corporate strategy, development and administration in 2016, and will succeed Ken desGarennes as CFO. [Press release]

Boulder-based adtech company Brandzooka recently announced the acquisition of social media advertising platform AdJelly. The EU-based company currently serves over 200,000 advertisers worldwide as a Facebook Advertising Partner. Webroot names Mike Potts as its new CEO
Broomfield-based cybersecurity company Webroot has named a new CEO following the news that current CEO Dick Williams plans to retire. Mike Potts brings a wealth of executive experience to the team. Most recently, he served as an integration executive in the security business group at Cisco following the 2015 acquisition of Lancope, where he served as president and CEO. Williams, who joined Webroot in 2009, will continue to serve on the company’s board. [Press release]
10-4 Systems acquired by Bay Area GPS technology company Trimble
10-4 Systems, provider of global supply chain visibility software, announced this week that it has been acquired by Sunnyvale, CA-based Trimble. Trimble is known primarily for its advanced positioning technology, which, like 10-4, serves the transportation and freight industry — among others.
