Snap partners with R/GA to create marketing accelerator

R/GA, which helps run the Dodgers Accelerator program, announced recently it had partnered with Snap Inc. to create R/GA Marketing Tech Venture Studio with IPG. The accelerator will provide guidance for companies in the marketing and digital advertising fields. [R/GA]

 

FloQast names VP of sales, opens office in Ohio.

FloQast, an accounting software developer based in Sherman Oaks, has named industry veteran Todd Ellwood as its new vice president of sales. Additionally, the company revealed it has opened a second office in Ohio, where Ellwood has been located for some time. [FloQast]

 

Vroozi names new CEO

Another Sherman Oaks-based startup, Vroozi, is in the news this week, as the company named a new CEO. The spend management platform developer announced it had added Gregg Parise of San Diego-based Events.com to the position. Steve Olds, who had held the role, will stay on with the company as president and chairman. [Vroozi]

 

ESL adds award-winning exec

ESL, the world's  largest esports company, announced this week the addition of award-winning producer David Hill to its team. The company, which has its North American headquarters in Burbank, also launched Esports by Hill, a premium production service. Hill had previously spent three decades at FOX, where he helped launch FOX Sports, among other networks. [ESL]

 

Equallet launches crowdfunding campaign to support women-owned businesses

Equallet, a search engine that allows users to find and patronize women-owned businesses — as well as patronizing the service of women freelancers — announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign aimed at raising money for the site's mission. The campaign's goal, $34,194, is the number of days since the Equal Rights Amendment was first introduced to Congress (although, 93 years later, it still has yet to pass). [Equallet]

 

Patch of Land adds key execs

Patch of Land, real estate lending crowdfunding marketplace, announced the addition of two key executives this week. Robert Greenberg will join the team as CMO, while Min Lee will take over chief financial officer duties for the West LA-based startup. [Patch of Land]

Investors: Accel Partners

GOAT, a mobile marketplace where sneakerheads can buy and sell verified kicks, announced the addition of a $25 million round of funding this week. The Culver City-based startup had quickly grown out of its headquarters, and plans to use the round of funding to find a new headquarters and rapidly add to its team. [Built In LA]
