ContextMedia, the company that helps doctors and patients communicate better, has rebranded as Outcome Health. The new name reflects a renewed focus on achieving better health outcomes for every patient, no matter the malady. City to boost tech diversity with $3.4 million in grants

Mayor Rahm Emanuel, along with the Blackstone Charitable Foundation and World Business Chicago, announced $3.4 million in new grants to help boost diversity in the city’s tech industry. The three-year Blackstone Inclusive Entrepreneurship Challenge pilot program will award grants to firms that recruit and support startups with strong diversity. [Press release]

 

SpotHero expanding to 13 more cities

Chicago-based Parking reservation service SpotHero is launching in 13 cities, including Austin, Miami and San Diego. The company now has more than 3,300 locations in 30 cities around the country. The 2013 Moxie Award winner plans to double in size this year. [Press release]

Former Madison Dearborn Partners director Ryan Roberts is joining Pritzker Group Private Capital as investment partner and co-head of the services team. Polsky Center earns $30,000 grant for female entrepreneurs

Polsky Center is bolstering its support of female STEM entrepreneurs thanks to a $30,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. Floral delivery startup Flowers for Dreams expanded outside Chicago for the first time this week, adding services in Milwaukee. The company chose the city to the north because of its proximity and the ability it has to still closely monitor the entire supply chain. Tock partners with Google Maps to ease table bookings

You can now book a table straight from Google Maps thanks to a new integration with Chicago-based restaurant booking service Tock. Users searching for restaurants will see the Tock option alongside information like hours and ratings. Outdoor touchscreens coming to Chicago to offer Wi-Fi and more

Free Wi-Fi, walking directions and city information are coming to giant touchscreens along Michigan Avenue. The 55-inch screens from Civiq Smartscapes are part of AT&T’s Smart Cities pilot in Chicago. They will allow users to access information on local attractions and other points of interest.
