Southwest Airlines is opening a global innovation center in Hyderabad, according to reporting by The Economic Times. The commercial airline company’s new facility will support its evolving business strategy and contribute to Hyderabad’s continued growth.
Alongside enabling Southwest to leverage Hyderabad’s skilled workforce and sturdy infrastructure, the move to establish its global innovation center there aligns with the Telangana government’s Telangana Rising 2047 vision. The initiative is intended to grow the state’s economy to $1 trillion by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047.
The Hyderabad facility will focus on developing solutions in support of Southwest’s evolving business model, operational efficiency and digital transformation initiatives, according to ePlane AI. It is expected to streamline software development, data analytics and operational research, adding local jobs and advancing the global aviation industry.
