Slalom has big plans for expansion in Chicago.
Although the consulting firm is headquartered in Seattle, Slalom just announced it intends to surpass 1,000 employees in its Chicago office this year. In order to hit 1,000 employees, Slalom said it would hire over 300 consultants and developers in the upcoming months.
To make this possible, Slalom promoted two long-time business leaders to be general managers of the Chicago office — Ali Minnick and Carrie Steyer. Minnick has been with Slalom for nine years and has experience working as a company director. Meanwhile, Steyer has been with the company for eight years and has held the director position at other consulting firms as well.
The duo will lead the Chicago team as it expands and aims to hit 200 percent revenue growth by 2025.
“Slalom’s local focus and global impact have enabled us to build a strong business and a values-based culture where employees can balance work and life and meaningfully engage in their community,” Minnick said in a statement. “Carrie and I are focused on helping our people grow based on their individual strengths and cultivating an inclusive environment where everyone is inspired and empowered to make their unique impact.”
Slalom is a consulting firm that specializes in helping companies with strategy, technology and business transformation. This means addressing the challenges of different businesses in all sorts of industries. For example, Slalom helped Alaska Airlines with its merger with Virgin America and it used Google Cloud to boost DSW’s loyalty program. The company also helped the American Cancer Society use machine learning to discover patterns in breast cancer tissue.
Its expertise on these topics has allowed the company to achieve an international presence and reach a valuation of $1.6 billion. Slalom has 8,000 employees across the world.
