Northflank, a database deployment platform headquartered in London, has raised $22.3 million in funding, or approximately £17.17 million. The funding consisted of a $16 million Series A led by Bain Capital and a $6.3 million seed round, led by Vertex Ventures.

Northflank provides solutions to help developers and software teams deploy code and build web applications more efficiently. For example, it provides cloud hosting services that support continuous integration and deployment, which simplifies things like SaaS software deployment. Additionally, the company provides databases and integrations with other popular cloud providers.

“Our mission is to enable developers to do what they do best: write code and ship new features,” said Will Stewart, CEO and co-founder of Northflank in a statement. “Too often, infrastructure complexity gets in the way . . . Northflank gives DevOps and platform teams a better abstraction to manage their infrastructure and automate deployment for their developers.”

With the new funding, Northflank plans to expand its presence with software teams worldwide and support its projects currently in development.
