When Desirée Aguirre joined Wonders, she anticipated a new adventure — what she found was something far more beautiful.

That early confidence and establishment of expertise was crucial when Aguirre’s manager took parental leave, and Aguirre stepped into the role.

Wonders offers a platform that supports administrative tasks for independent restaurants, helping them gain efficiencies of scale. The software handles phone and online orders, payment processing, marketing and even staffing support. 


With stretch projects and intellectual challenges ahead of her in 2024, Aguirre isn’t part of the audience at Wonders — she’s integral to the vibrant composition of the company, and she’s excited to continue to grow. “In this dynamic environment, the journey is bound to be both challenging and rewarding,” she said.

The highlight of my onboarding process was an enthralling listening tour, where I immersed myself in crucial meetings, met key stakeholders and forged relationships that would become the bedrock of my initial weeks.


What pleasantly surprised you after you joined Wonders?

One delightful surprise that awaited me after joining was the unique and lively new-hire announcement process. It felt like a virtual red carpet, where our CEO and president personally welcomed me to the global stage. Their swift engagement made me feel not just an employee but a valued member of a close-knit community.

How have you hit the ground running since you joined and what are you most excited to accomplish?

Since my arrival, I’ve hit the ground running, immersing myself in diverse projects and team initiatives. I had a work trip to Southeast Asia, which was a hands-on exploration to better understand our local teams and support our hiring needs effectively. 

Having face-to-face interactions and gaining new insights will undoubtedly shape the landscape of our 2024 initiatives.


What aspect of your professional growth are you most excited to evolve?

Looking ahead, the thrill of evolving professionally excites me. Managing the recruiting team’s project portfolio requires honing my project management skills daily. Yet, the real thrill lies in enhancing my data analytics capabilities. The ability to weave compelling narratives through data and craft reports that visualize our recruiting effectiveness is a skill I am eager to master.

With each passing day, I’m not just navigating currents; I’m becoming an integral part of the vibrant tapestry that is Wonders.
