Meet Manjula. She’s the leader of Arm’s High-Speed I/O (Input/Output) Technology team and one of our engineers shaping what's next. Driving how we collaborate and innovate, she turns ideas into silicon-ready actions, and works on the big challenges of the AI era. We spoke with her about what inspires her and why Arm is the place to pursue her big career goals.
About Arm
Arm's Compute Subsystems are designed to help its silicon partners speed time to market, while focusing valuable design resources on building differentiated, market-customized solutions at scale.
The Work Engineers Do on Arm's High-Speed I/O Technology Team
Can you tell us about the work you’re doing at Arm right now?
Currently, I lead the High-Speed I/O Technology team, specializing in the architecture and development of advanced I/O subsystems for infrastructure, IoT, automotive and client solutions. High-speed I/O is advancing at an unprecedented pace, with bandwidth doubling each generation to meet the escalating demand for data movement between host central processing units and AI accelerators.
Our work is centered on delivering ultra-high-bandwidth, area-efficient, scalable and low-latency connectivity solutions, capabilities that are critical to powering next-generation artificial intelligence and machine learning workloads. By driving innovation in host interfaces and accelerator connectivity, we ensure robust, high-performance solutions that accelerate modern compute platforms.
The Impact of Working on Arm's High-Speed I/O Technology Team
What excites you most about it?
What excites me most is seeing our innovations evolve from concept to silicon, directly enabling breakthroughs in AI and shaping the future of intelligent, connected systems. It’s a perfect example of applying a 10x mindset. When we think beyond incremental improvements, we can work on building solutions that scale.
"What excites me most is seeing our innovations evolve from concept to silicon, directly enabling breakthroughs in AI and shaping the future of intelligent, connected systems."
What does having a 10x mindset mean to you?
In my day-to-day work on high-bandwidth host-to-accelerator connections, this mindset pushes me to go beyond incremental improvements. I focus on eliminating bottlenecks, enabling scalability, and designing DMA and coherency solutions that are future-proof for AI and data-intensive workloads. I also look for opportunities to reuse proven building blocks so I can spend more time innovating where it matters most: latency, throughput and efficiency.
At the end of the day, a 10x mindset means multiplying the impact of every engineering choice, so the solutions we build are not only high-performing, but also energy-efficient, scalable and ready to make a global difference.
The Key Elements of Arm's 10x Mindset

Why Engineers Should Build Their Career on Arm's High-Speed I/O Technology Team
What makes Arm a rewarding place to be an engineer?
In my role, I regularly collaborate across divisions including ATG, central technology, central engineering, and solutions engineering, to develop solutions that differentiate Arm CPUs and address the evolving needs of the AI era.
It's all about collaboration. Everyone across teams buys into the 10x mindset. That not only enables us to solve complex problems but also makes Arm a place where you can continuously learn, grow, and contribute to innovations that have a real impact on industry.
What Engineers Should Know Before Applying to Arm's High-Speed I/O Technology Team
What would you say to the next generation of engineers?
Dream big. But remember why you’re building. At Arm, what we create touches billions of lives every day. That’s an incredible opportunity, and a responsibility. As engineers, we must design with purpose: solutions that are efficient, inclusive, and built to scale. Every decision you make, a design tweak, a line of code, has the potential to ripple across the world.
So, stay curious, collaborate with others, and balance ambition with execution. The real impact comes not from chasing what’s possible, but from shaping what should be possible - for people and for the planet. And, of course, always keep a 10x mindset in view: think about how your work can multiply impact, not just add to it.
