How Prolaio’s Annual Gathering Builds Team Connections

The phrase 'strength in numbers' reflects Prolaio's growing team and recent milestones, inspiring the theme of its annual company gathering. In September 2026, Prolaio team members gathered for a few days of community-building, knowledge-sharing, brainstorming, and most importantly, fun.

What Does Prolaio Do?

Prolaio is a clinical intelligence company developing FDA-cleared, data-driven technology that uses continuous, real-world heart data to improve cardiovascular research, drug development and patient outcomes.

Vice President of Talent and Culture Nicole Skaluba played a key role in ensuring the event ran smoothly and reflected its “Strength in Numbers” theme.

“The entire week was intentionally structured around this theme to reinforce our mission and bring our company core values to life through both strategic alignment and shared experiences,” Skaluba said.

The week was peppered with activities that ranged from a Chicago Cubs game outing to a leadership Q&A. Each event was designed to give employees a deeper understanding of each other and the business, while strengthening their connection to Prolaio’s mission: “moving cardiovascular care forward.”

Afterward, Skaluba said she felt “incredibly energized and proud.”

Below, Skaluba breaks down Prolaio’s annual gathering, highlighting the most impactful moments that brought employees together to learn and connect with each other.

How Prolaio Brings Its Company Values to Life

In September, Prolaio gathered our entire team in Chicago for a multi-day annual event designed to build community, exchange bold ideas, hear key organizational updates and energize our team. The week kicked off with team social events — Chicago classics like a Cubs game and Whirlyball — and culminated on Thursday with our main all-company conference at the UBS Building (1 North Wacker). This year’s theme, “Strength in Numbers,” highlighted our focus on data — both in our business solutions and within our growing team. The entire week was intentionally structured around this theme to reinforce our mission and bring our company core values to life through both strategic alignment and shared experiences.

How Prolaio Welcomed Employees to Its Annual Gathering

On Thursday morning, for our main conference day, I arrived at 7:00 a.m. at 1 North Wacker to ensure the venue was set up and technology was prepped. As employees arrived starting at 8:00 a.m., energy ran high — especially after two great days of team bonding. We welcomed everyone with breakfast, lively music and a slideshow highlighting company milestones and candid photos. I greeted team members as they arrived, setting a warm, collaborative tone for the day. Our general manager, Derek Evans, kicked things off with a brief welcome at 8:30 a.m. before we headed outside for our annual group photo, capturing the shared energy of our time together in Chicago.

Team-Building Activities at Prolaio’s Annual Gathering

Tuesday: We kicked off our week together on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field for a Chicago Cubs game. Cheering together in the stands was an amazing, low-pressure way to welcome out-of-town colleagues, unwind and build connections right out of the gate.

Wednesday: On Wednesday, individual departments hosted tailored group outings across Chicago. Teams bonded through creative activities, including citywide scavenger hunts, racing at the F1 Arcade, a scenic architecture boat tour and trying out authentic Polish cuisine.

Thursday, 10:00 a.m.: Olympic gold medalist Kendall Coyne Schofield shared her journey from Chicago’s South Suburbs to world-class achievement, offering powerful insights on balancing individual excellence with team synergy that aligned with important Prolaio values: “Succeed Together” and “Relentless Determination.”

Thursday, 11:00 a.m.: Walker Frahm, CEO of the Foundation of Inherited Arrhythmias, shared moving stories of the patients his organization supports, grounding us deeply in another core value: “Patients at the Heart of Every Day.”

How Prolaio Celebrated Employees and Teamwork

Following our leadership team Q&A at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, we closed the week by recognizing everyone who helped coordinate and execute the multi-day event. After saying goodbye to colleagues and helping with event wrap-up, I headed to the train at 5:15 p.m. While executing a multi-day event with so many moving parts is demanding, I left feeling incredibly energized and proud. Blending dedicated social outings with focused conference sessions reminded me of what makes Prolaio special: the passionate people who bring their energy every single day to drive meaningful outcomes for our patients.
