Moira Sweeney was never interested in being a “bump on a log.”
That’s why Sweeney joined AlphaSights right out of college, believing the organization would grant her the autonomy and career acceleration she desired.
She was right. Since joining as an intern about seven years ago, Sweeney has grown tremendously at AlphaSights, now serving as a client service vice president. She attributes this growth to the high degree of responsibility AlphaSights gave her early on in her career, including the chance to run multiple teams, lead senior client relationships and navigate talent decisions.
“These challenges and learning opportunities allowed me to step into the VP role with confidence and conviction in my ability to lead and grow an account while continuing to develop my own professional career,” Sweeney said.
She believes the company offers its people an “unmatched level of responsibility” — and she’s not alone. Since joining the organization seven years ago, Client Service VP Brody Garrity has also had the chance to evolve, acquiring many new skills along the way.
“The culture of healthy competition and collective pursuit of excellence has kept me continuously engaged and motivated throughout my seven years here,” he said.

During his time at AlphaSights, Garrity has been able to guide new hires, manage client projects and handle high-profile relationships. His experience is a reflection of three pillars at AlphaSights: ownership, achievement and acceleration.
For Client Service VP Philip Sheridan, AlphaSights’ workplace environment enables team members to “go further, faster” — and impact the business as a whole.
“When we own our inputs and go above and beyond for our clients, we win our clients’ business and achieve tremendous results,” he said.
ABOUT ALPHASIGHTS
AlphaSights is the global leader in knowledge on-demand. An information services company, AlphaSights’ platform connects investors and business leaders with the knowledge they need to succeed.
Own, Achieve, Accelerate
Before Sweeney joined AlphaSights, her goals for the next step in her career were clear: “I knew that I wanted to work hard, build something and surround myself with driven and supportive people.”
She found all of that when she started her internship at the company, and over the years, these values helped her surmount challenges. Although she faced various hurdles over the years, the work that went into overcoming them helped her build and refine countless skills, including client relationship management and talent operations.
With support from mentors, Sweeney learned that progress is only possible when paired with “tough learning moments.”
“When I face the big challenges or the small hiccups day to day, I remember that these are the very moments that allow for the opportunities to own, achieve and accelerate,” she said.

Garrity believes that being surrounded by ambitious individuals with ownership mindsets, such as Sweeney, has been critical to his own success. And now that he has stepped into a leadership position, he has seen a new type of success take shape.
“My success blends into the collective sum of my team’s ownership, achievement and acceleration,” Garrity said. “Witnessing my team members’ accomplishments and contributions to the company’s success is incredibly fulfilling.”
OWN ‘COMMERCIAL RESULTS’
For Sheridan, having the opportunity to own his commercial responsibility on the client service team “is an immensely rewarding experience,” he said. “Being able to ideate and execute commercial strategies has challenged me to grow as a professional in ways I didn’t think would be possible so early in my career.” By developing relationships with and understanding clients’ needs, he has had the chance to help drive both himself and the business forward.
‘Success Begets More Success’
When a team member’s personal growth becomes a gateway to opportunity, they have the chance to drive change not just for themselves but for others, as well.
“Success begets more success, and before you know it, you’ve built yourself a track record of achievement,” Garrity said.
These achievements are tied directly to the company’s client-first atmosphere. According to Sheridan, every team member is motivated to exceed client expectations through their individual work, which unlocks countless opportunities to evolve professionally.
This means that from the moment team members join the company, they get to work alongside industry-leading investors, consultants and corporations while connecting them with experts who can drive their businesses forward.
“Those who think critically on behalf of our clients, work to out-hustle the competition and remain adaptable to ever-changing client needs and market conditions will accelerate their careers,” Sheridan said.

Sweeney believes everyone who joins the company has the potential to “run multimillion dollar books of business,” as long as they have the determination to follow this aim.
“It’s ultimately up to you as to whether you will pursue this path and take advantage of the opportunities along the way,” she said. “A high degree of commitment, drive and intentionality is absolutely necessary to do so.”
In Garrity’s mind, every person’s contributions are felt across the wider organization, reinforcing a sense of fulfillment and pride. And when team members’ individual achievements converge, they result in collaboration that fuels companywide progress.
“The collective pursuit of excellence leads to improved client outcomes as everyone thrives on the mutual success they achieve together,” Garrity concluded. “We’re counting on each other to deliver the best experts possible.”
