General Motors has hired Kurt Kelty as the vice president of batteries. In this newly created role, Kelty will be responsible for building out GM’s battery cell strategy and a new end-to-end approach, helping the company work toward its vision of an all-electric future.
Kelty has more than three decades of experience developing and commercializing battery technologies for electric transportation. He previously served as a vice president at Sila, where he was responsible for sales, business development and battery engineering.
