ElevenLabs, a voice technology company, has secured $80 million in Series B funding. The capital will help the company advance its research, expand infrastructure and develop new products for various industries. The investment was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz, Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross. The funding will also support the implementation of enhanced safety measures to ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI technology.

Specializing in natural speech synthesis, ElevenLabs allows users to create and design AI voices in various languages and accents, with different emotions and intonations. The company’s technology has applications across AI dubbing, education, audiobook publishing and personal accessibility. ElevenLabs serves clients in sectors including publishing, gaming, media and more.

Alongside its funding, the company introduced new product developments. Its Dubbing Studio is a video localization tool that enables users to dub movies as well as generate and edit transcripts. Its Voice Library marketplace allows users to create, verify and share AI-generated versions of their voices. Additionally, ElevenLabs is launching an early preview of its Mobile Reader app, which converts text and URLs into audio.
