Last week, the DFW metro saw big moves from two subsidiaries of Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company. One is flying high after announcing a partnership with Walgreens to offer drone delivery in Frisco and Little Elm, while the other is promising to bring hundreds of new tech jobs to the region. Wing partnered with WalgreensWing, an Alphabet Inc. subsidiary, partnered with Walgreens to offer drone delivery services at Walgreens for residents in Frisco and Little Elm. No date was given as to when deliveries will begin, but the company will conduct test flights in the coming weeks. [Built In DFW]

CollateralEdge secured $3.5MCollateralEdge emerged from stealth with new funding and is seeking to expand its team. The Richardson-based fintech company helps local banks strengthen their credit profile by creating lending opportunities and allowing regional banks to borrow capital at lower rates. [Built In DFW]

Verily plans to open a Dallas hub. The Alphabet Inc. subsidiary that focuses on medical research plans to move into a temporary location in Dallas this winter and move into a permanent location at Cypress Waters by June 2022. The company’s CEO told Built In Verily will be hiring for 115 positions related to IT, sales and marketing. Additional jobs could be added should Verily expand its Dallas hub. [Built In DFW]

Appspace acquired Beezy. Dallas-based software company Appspace announced the news last Wednesday. Also in based in Dallas, Beezy is a software company that creates secure communication platforms that integrate with Microsoft 365. The acquisition will help Appspace users better integrate communication in offices where employees are working both in-person and remotely. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. [Email]
