When Cheri Meskimen completed her onboarding program at Vorto, she saw something that astonished her.
It was support.
Before joining the logistics tech company, Meskimen had never worked alongside peers who had her back from the start. Now that she has this at Vorto, she looks forward to every workday.
“The benefits of being an employee here are just amazing and show me that they care about their people,” she said.
The benefits that Meskimen referred to are manifold, stemming largely from an empowering culture, which was palpable from day one. From the ways in which they promptly answered her initial questions when onboarding to how they set her up with the tools she needed to thrive, her teammates have always been there to guide the way and give her space to leave her own mark on the company.
But it’s not just her peers’ encouragement that has convinced Meskimen that she’s in the right place — the power of the company’s platform has been equally influential.
“It’s truly amazing to see what this software can do and how it has helped so many truck drivers manage their businesses in the energy industry,” she said. “It’s something I’m honored to be a part of.”
Fueled by her belief in the company’s mission “to enable businesses to be more economically and environmentally sustainable by digitally transforming the supply chain,” Meskimen is eager to see what the future holds for herself and the company as a whole.
“I want to keep growing at Vorto as much as possible so that I can further its mission and say I was a part of something great,” she said.

ABOUT VORTO
Vorto’s AI-powered platform bridges the gaps between buyers, suppliers and logistics providers. The software is designed to predict demand for suppliers, find fleets and drivers for outbound transportation and automate payments.
The onboarding process was very simple for me, other than my own nerves about starting a new job. Everyone was so welcoming and answered any questions that I had. The responses from the team were very prompt and upfront. During the onboarding process, the team provided me with clear expectations of my new role and gave me the tools I needed to be successful.
I think one of the best things about onboarding was that I had the chance to go out to lunch with a few team members, where I got a better feeling for my role and was able to ask any questions about the company and job expectations. It made me feel like I fully had people behind me to help me and encourage me to be successful and comfortable in my role at Vorto.
What pleasantly surprised you after you joined Vorto?
One of the aspects I love about Vorto is that you can be yourself. The work environment is so laid back, and everyone is just so welcoming. If one person is struggling, you have a whole village there to help. I just love that Vorto always tries to make the work environment fun and engaging, even with the long hours.
This company is going to change the world. I never knew much about the trucking industry and how hard it was to be a truck driver in this day and age. It’s mind-blowing to see the care and compassion this logistics company shows its drivers and employees.
“It’s mind-blowing to see the care and compassion this logistics company shows its drivers and employees.”
When did you know you made the right choice in joining Vorto?
I knew I made the right choice when I was done with training and saw the support I have as an employee not only from my peers, but from the company as a whole. Before joining Vorto, I never had a job that I looked forward to walking into every day. This company is more like a family. Whether you are in the office or in the field, Vorto truly cares about your success.
What company have you encountered that you can honestly say is traveling across the country to support its customers, even on Christmas? It’s remarkable to see and gives me reassurance that this is where I belong. I’ve seen people travel across the country to help other teams that need support. The sacrifice each one of us is willing to make to watch another person be successful and support their family is truly amazing, and I can’t see myself anywhere else.
Also, I found it remarkable how quickly we can all shift as a team to make operations run smoothly. It’s my favorite Vorto “nutrition fact”: “Change fast to act fast.”
How have you hit the ground running since you joined Vorto, and what are you most excited to accomplish as you continue growing at the company?
Since joining Vorto, I’ve had so much support in furthering my career. Since day one, I’ve known I can do great things and that I’m a part of a mission that’s going to change the trucking industry forever.
I’ve recently been promoted to super pilot 1 on the energy logistics team. I’m most excited to further my knowledge of the software and help my team and department be successful while doing what I can to help our customers and truckers succeed, as well. Because without our customers and truckers, we wouldn’t be here.
I want to feel like I’ve made a positive impact on the company’s success. I see the mission and passion this company has, and I’m so excited to see where it takes me. My ultimate goal is to eventually reach super pilot 4 and become a lead in the logistics department. I believe that gaining a diverse range of skills and experiences will be critical to achieving this goal.
What aspect of your professional growth are you most excited to evolve?
What I’m most excited about is broadening my knowledge of the logistics aspects of Vorto to help drive its success and change the world. Making a difference is something I’ve always had a passion for doing. It has been said that making a difference and helping people always makes you feel better than the way you made that person feel. I do feel that here, even if it’s something as little as changing a driver’s load so that they can make it home to be with their family.
A sense of belonging is something I’ve already found in my professional growth here at Vorto. I have bought into our mission entirely and have many values that will help Vorto succeed.
Another aspect of my growth that I’m excited to evolve is finding resolutions and acting quickly to make the most efficient logistical solutions to help my team succeed. I feel that my current position will help me evolve these skills and give me the knowledge and learning experience needed to do great things moving forward for both myself and my team.
