Scholarship programs give students the financial means to further their education. Whether they want to go to a four-year university or pursue career training through a vocational program, this kind of financial aid ensures a broad range of students have access to options that can prepare them for the professional world. The following companies offer scholarships to help cover tuition costs, allowing students to focus their time and energy on learning.

Companies That Offer Scholarships

Fast food company McDonald’s has two major scholarship programs. Each year, the McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship Program awards tuition funds to 30 Hispanic students “based on their academic achievement, community involvement, personal statement and financial need.” McDonald’s also partnered with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to provide scholarships to students attending historically Black colleges and universities through the Black and Positively Golden Scholarship Program.

Ford is a longtime fixture in automotive manufacturing. To help fill workforce gaps in the industry, the Ford Motor Company Fund partnered with Ford dealers and nonprofit TechForce to create the Ford Auto Tech Scholarship program. It provides $5,000 to students in programs that are preparing them for careers as automotive technicians. The program is open to applicants in the greater Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Phoenix areas who are able to demonstrate financial need.

 

Drink industry giant The Coca-Cola Company founded the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation in the 1980s. It has since awarded more than $73 million in scholarships to support thousands of students in their education. The foundation currently facilitates three annual scholarship programs: the Coca-Cola Scholars Program, the Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team and Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise. 

 

Tech company Intel created the Intel Scholars program to help diversify the STEM field by awarding nearly $2 million a year in scholarships to students from underrepresented groups. In addition to receiving financial aid, the program also connects scholars with mentors, job opportunities, training and workshops, peer networking and mental health and wellness support.
