
McDonald’s deal to bring hundreds of new tech jobs to Chicagoland
McDonald’s and French tech consulting and outsourcing firm Capgemini struck a deal that will bring 500 new tech jobs to the Chicago area. The Paris-based company will take over the fast food giant’s digital technology efforts. Former Twitter VP of engineering joins Outcome Health
Outcome Health introduced Nandini Ramani as its new chief engineering officer on Tuesday. Before joining the healthcare company, Ramani was in charge of engineering effectiveness at Twitter. Prior to joining Twitter she led Oracle’s Java business unit. In her new role, Ramani will be strengthening and scaling the company’s tech platform as well as its custom-made tablets. That’s not their name: kCura announces rebrand
On Monday, kCura became Relativity. Founder and CEO Andrew Sieja said the move was motivated by the name recognition of its Relativity software in the legal industry. “People in the legal community around the world know us as Relativity,” said Sieja in a statement. “Combining the two brands into one just makes sense.” [Built In Chicago]

Wise Apple raises $3.6M seed round
School lunch subscription startup Wise Apple announced a $3.6 million seed round Wednesday. The round was led by Pritzker Group Venture Capital and Levy Family, with Chicago Ventures, Greycroft Partners, BoxGroup and Irish Angels also participating. With the new money, Wise Apple plans to expand its Humboldt Park production operations and launch in new markets throughout the Midwest. [Built In Chicago]

ExplORer Surgical secures $3M Series A
On Wednesday, ExplORer Surgical announced a $3 million Series A round. Its software lets surgeons create custom workflows to better organize their operating rooms. There’s also a built-in analytics function that measures and compares OR performance and helps cut down on wasted supplies. Aphelion Capital led the round and was joined by the UChicago Startup Investment Program. ExplORer Surgical plans to use the funding to grow its sales and business development teams. PreparedHealth hires new chief marketing officer
PreparedHealth introduced Iqbal Brainch as its new CMO on Tuesday. Brainch comes to the healthtech startup from OptionsCity, where he served as vice president of marketing and product strategy. FourKites hires new president
Sean Fallon has joined logistics startup FourKites as its new president. This is his latest leadership role at a Chicago tech company. Fallon was previously CEO at OpinionLab and also served as COO and CFO at BigMachines. [Marketwired]

Rideshare retail startup Cargo expands to Chicago
New York-based startup Cargo has launched in Chicago. The company, founded by former Birchbox employees, equips drivers for ride-hailing companies like Lyft and Uber with boxes filled with items like snacks, beauty supplies and phone chargers. Drivers are given a cut of each purchase, and are not charged for having Cargo boxes in their cars. Each purchase nets a driver around 50 cents, and the entire transaction process takes place on a passenger’s phone. [Chicago Inno]
