Bar 63 is a sports bar, restaurant and music venue in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood known for fresh food, tasty cocktails and cold beer. Located just blocks away from Loyola University Chicago’s lakefront campus, Bar 63 was approached by the university to become the official Loyola campus bar. In fact, the name of the bar is in reference to 1963 – the last time that Loyola University Chicago won a championship in basketball. Loyola owns the building that houses the bar and is dedicated to a successful partnership.

In 2015, Bar 63 received a PPA (Public Place of Amusement) license and can now host live music at the bar. Bar 63 is fully equipped with state of the art viewing capabilities and attracts crowds to watch Chicago sports teams on one of the bar’s 25 big screen TVs. Bar 63 also hosts private events as well as open mic nights, trivia nights and live DJs.

"Since getting the PPA license, in the future we will be bringing bands from overseas as well as local bands throughout the year," says Bobby Grbevski, owner of Bar 63. "Raising funding on Bolstr will allow us to host high quality musical performers, drawing in new crowds of customers as a music venue."

In September 2015, Bar 63 raised $50,000 in less than 24 hours on the Bolstr marketplace. In order to transform the bar to support live music performances, the money raised will be used to invest in a new sound system, a stage and new lighting to attract top-notch performers.

The Bar 63 fall schedule already includes a robust list of well-known local and regional performers and the new investments into the bar will help turn the bar into a live music destination in Chicago.
