Several companies in the Peach State made moves last week, fueling innovations on the capital’s tech sector in cybersecurity, e-commerce and more. Read on to learn what these companies have in store. This is the Built In Atlanta weekly refresh.

IRONSCALES raised $64M. The Series C round was led by PSG and brings the email security company’s total funding to $95 million. Its platform offers enterprises an AI-powered solution that works continually to detect and fix ​​suspicious emails within seconds. Planning to grow its 80-person team to 200 by the end of 2022, IRONSCALES is hiring across R&D, marketing, HR, sales and customer success. [Built In Atlanta]

Micron expands into Atlanta. With plans to open a new design center in Midtown next month, computer parts manufacturer Micron is investing in R&D for its memory and storage chip solutions. The company hopes to build out partnerships with local colleges and universities as it expands its team by 500 next year. The Desire Company pulled in $8M. Following its Series A round co-led by Valor Equity Partners and Cleveland Avenue, media platform The Desire Company plans to expand its library of content. It provides expert reviews, how-to’s, classes and more for consumers to make confident purchases. Marketplacer secured $38M. Based in Melbourne, SaaS company Marketplacer has a presence in Atlanta and is looking to expand. Helping brands grow their online marketplaces, the company will invest in growing its presence across the globe, innovating its product and establishing more partnerships with commerce platforms. Its latest funding round came from investors like Acorn Capital, Lennox Capital Partners and Salesforce Ventures. [Built In Atlanta]

NuBrakes secured $9M. Its platform enables individuals and fleet operators to request on-site auto maintenance services with on-board predictive telematics capabilities. NuBrakes announced a Series A round to expand its service offerings to include oil changes, battery replacements and more. Sampson Acquisitions bought Piksel Group. Founded by Rodney Sampson, Multicast Media Technologies Inc. (newly rebranded as Piksel Technology Corp.) came into new ownership once more through Samson Acquisitions. Piksel Tech enables users to stream various content types in any format onto any platform simultaneously. The 35-person company in Marietta occupies a 10,000-square-foot office which Samson plans to convert into a collaboration space in anticipation of new key hires. [Atlanta Inno]
