Ambience Healthcare, an AI operating system for healthcare organizations, has raised $70 million in a Series B funding round co-led by Kleiner Perkins and OpenAI Startup Fund. The company leverages generative AI to help alleviate clinician burnout, improve health system efficiency and enable high-quality care.
The Ambience platform is designed to support different clinical specialties, including care models, workflows and reimbursement frameworks. It features a suite of AI solutions such as a real-time medical scribe, a point-of-care assistant for clinical documentation improvement, referral letter software and an after-visit summary tool. It currently has an intelligent pre-charting tool in the works.
The company aims to build an entire ecosystem of applications within its operating system, addressing structural inefficiencies in other organizational initiatives such as prior authorization, utilization management and clinical trial matching. With its latest funding, Ambience plans to accelerate its product roadmap, build dedicated teams for its health system partners and further develop its AI foundation models.
