20 Aerospace Companies in Hyderabad to Know
Lockheed Martin, a U.S.-based defense and aerospace company, formed a joint venture with Tata Advanced Systems in 2010 called Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Limited. The company opened a 4,700-square-meter metal-to-metal bonding facility in Hyderabad in 2018. In 2023, the company announced that it would produce 29 F-21 fighter wing shipsets for Lockheed Martin.
Skanda Aerospace is a precision manufacturing company that specializes in aerospace-grade gears, gear boxes and engine parts. The company, which is located on the outskirts of Hyderabad, is a joint venture between Hyderabad-based Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools and U.S.-based Rave Gears.
Soaron, a Hyderabad company founded in 2019, manufactures drones that can paint high-rise structures and bridges. Its flagship product, called Colorown, features a foldable airframe, a retractable landing skid and a robotic arm that can apply paint via a roller brush or spray module.

Dhruva Space develops satellites for commercial, defense and scientific purposes. It also helps clients deploy, control and monitor their satellites. The 80-person company currently operates out of a 10,000-square-foot facility in Hyderabad. In 2023 it announced that it would be building a new 280,000-square-foot facility near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, with construction set to finish within five years.
Skyroot is best known for launching India’s first privately developed rocket, Vikram-S, into space in 2022. The company plans to launch its second commercial rocket, Vikram-1, in 2024. The launch vehicle has the capacity to take payloads up to 300 kilograms into low-earth orbit. More than 300 employees work at Skyroot’s 60,000-square-foot facility in Hyderabad.
French aerospace company Safran makes rotating turbine seals for the LEAP aircraft engine at its 15,000-square-meter aircraft engine plant in Hyderabad. In a nearby facility, the company manufactures wiring for aircraft engines. In 2024, the company announced it would build a $150 million facility in Hyderabad, set to open in 2025, that will employ a thousand workers focusing on maintenance, repair and overhaul.
Boeing, one of the world’s largest aerospace companies, partnered with Tata Advanced Systems, one of India’s top aerospace and defense companies, in 2015 to establish Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited, a joint venture that produces AH-64 Apache helicopter fuselages and Boeing 737 aircraft vertical fin structures. In 2016, the company opened its 14,000-square-foot Hyderabad facility, which employs more than 600 professionals.
GE Aviation, an aircraft engine manufacturer, opened a Hyderabad facility in 2018 as part of a strategic partnership with Tata Advanced Systems. The companies partnered to manufacture, assemble, integrate and test aircraft components for the CFM LEAP engine. CFM is a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.
Ananth Technologies, a Hyderabad-headquartered company founded in 1992, designs mission computers, control systems and other electronic systems that have been used in roughly 50 space launch vehicles and nearly 100 space crafts. The company, which employs 1,200 people across five locations, also provides geospatial services that assist with urban planning, agricultural forecasting and other initiatives that require a bird’s eye view.
Nucon Aerospace, which is headquartered in Hyderabad, specializes in manufacturing control actuation systems for the aerospace, defense, space and naval sectors. Some of its products include electronic components for avionics systems, valves for space and marine applications and electro-mechanical precision assemblies for aerospace systems. The company has 600 employees.
Sikorsky Aircraft, one of the world’s largest helicopter manufacturers, partnered with Tata Advanced Systems in 2009 to build two manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad. The joint venture, called Tata Sikorsky Aerospace Limited, primarily focuses on manufacturing the more than 5,000 precision components necessary to assemble the cabin of Sikorsky’s S-92 helicopter, which is used for offshore oil transportation and other operations.
Zest IoT develops artificial camera-based artificial intelligence and IoT sensors that can detect items at airports that might otherwise be invisible to cameras. This technology can be helpful to ground handlers and other operations teams coordinating flight turnarounds at airports. The company, which is headquartered in Hyderabad, has more than 75 employees.
BrahMos Aerospace was formed in 1998 as part of an intergovernmental agreement between the Indian and Russian governments.
