This mentality is reflected internally at ServiceNow as well in its investment in people. My experience has been welcoming, inclusive and professional. “I’ve been immersed in an incredibly supportive and patient culture.”
What’s your favorite part about working at ServiceNow?
One of my favorite aspects of working at ServiceNow is the opportunity for growth. As an early-career software engineer, I seek hands-on experience to develop my skills. I have been able to showcase my strengths through various projects in full-stack development. There are many processes, tools, and tasks to learn from and numerous opportunities to showcase your work, such as leading a project to completion.
The supportive and inclusive environment at ServiceNow has enabled me to thrive and grow, making it the perfect place to build a fulfilling career. What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
My advice to job seekers looking to join ServiceNow is to identify and showcase your core values when working as a team. Demonstrate your expertise and how you can apply it in a work environment. Capco is a global technology and management consultancy that supports organizations in the financial services and energy industries, specializing in areas like digital engineering, business and automation intelligence and systems integration.
What is your role, and what attracted you to Capco? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
I am the tech lead for the AI dev team. I decided to join Capco because of the quality of people I encountered during the hiring process who seemed to be very open-minded about talented people with a non-traditional tech background. I knew it was a good fit for me on my very first project — in truth, even during my orientation sessions. The scrum master didn’t care that I was self-taught or a junior. He assessed my work ethic and what I was capable of before adjusting my responsibilities accordingly.
What’s your favorite part about working at Capco?
As long as I demonstrate effort and deliver high-quality work, I have a lot of flexibility. When presented with a problem, I have very wide latitude and freedom for how I come to the solution. If I present a viable idea, I am not only free to chase it but am actively encouraged to do so. The team we have built around AI is a highlight. We regularly get together in the office. We have fun, joke with each other and solve problems together. There’s a strong startup feel to how we work.
“If I present a viable idea, I am not only free to chase it but am actively encouraged to do so.”
When it comes to opportunities for growth, it is all about you. Capco doesn’t care about years or experience — they care about the specific talents that you have and what level of effort you put in. I can attest to this personally. A little over three years ago, I began teaching myself how to code. A year into that, Capco gave me an opportunity. My first project, understandably, was a junior quality assurance role. Soon, I was presenting ideas about AI, solutions to pressing problems and insights on team ethics in addition to being involved in a whole lot of problem-solving. Capco gave me recognition and credit every step of the way and put me out front, and today, I am an AI lead after only two years into the industry.
What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
As cliché as it sounds, it starts with having a good attitude. Show curiosity, ask questions and demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks and roles. Be honest about where you have knowledge gaps. Finally, find ways to showcase your skills rather than just talk about them.
TransUnion is a global information and insights company that aims to help organizations understand consumers more effectively and deliver personalized experiences.
What is your role, and what attracted you to TransUnion? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
At TransUnion, I serve as the vice president of global technology strategy and transformation. About a week into joining TransUnion, I was on a large call discussing a complex issue, and I was immediately struck by the high sense of collaboration and desire to work on the issue as a team. It became abundantly clear that the objective was to collectively solve the problem and not focus on the issue or place any judgement.
What’s your favorite part about working at TransUnion?
The best part of working at TransUnion is the team culture, mainly within the teams I work closely with and especially within my own team. I have always wanted to foster a sense of collaboration and problem-solving within a team. In my time with TransUnion, it’s been enjoyable to work collectively and cooperatively to achieve our goals together.

Qualtrics’ AI-powered platform is designed to enable brands to optimize employee and customer experiences and perform strategy and research.
What is your role, and what attracted you to Qualtrics? Describe the moment when you knew you'd found the right fit.
I am an engineering manager on the data intelligence platform under DICE. What attracted me to Qualtrics six years ago were the people I met during the interview process. I could sense the culture of learning and collaboration. I followed that hunch and have been here ever since. The moment I knew I found the right fit was when I sat in my first design review. The lack of ego and focus on the problem during a design review was refreshing and really helped accelerate my growth as an engineer.
What’s your favorite part about working at Qualtrics?
The people and the team culture. I firmly believe that, in such a fast-paced technical environment, it’s who you work with day to day that can make or break your mental health. In our org, I feel supported by leadership and empowered to make my team effective and supported. In addition, to be able to work on the cutting edge of agentic AI makes the train ride every more exciting. We are always learning about new developments and collaborating on how breakthroughs can inspire our product roadmap. One additional aspect of being a manager that I love is coaching and watching my team grow. We have team members in various stages of their careers, and being a champion on the sidelines for them is something I take pride in.
“We are always learning about new developments and collaborating on how breakthroughs can inspire our product roadmap.”
What advice would you give to jobseekers looking to join your growing team?
In an evolving technical landscape that requires more and more know-how, the fundamental bottleneck that limits innovation is communication. You can only write so much software on your own, but it’s who you bring along and empower that multiplies the team’s effectiveness.
In addition, our team is on the forefront of agentic AI development, so I would suggest newcomers to stay curious and be always on the lookout for new AI development and know how to integrate those ideas into existing projects. The last bit of advice I have is to try to always see the bigger picture of what you are working on. It’s easy to get lost in the weeds of a design or implementation, but it’s also important to not lose sight of the end goal. This can manifest as user empathy and understanding how your solution actually meets the pain point of the user.
OK, I actually have one more tip: In your interview, be sure to have fun! Make sure your personality shines through, because we want to get to know the real you. At the end of the day, we will be in the trenches together, for better or worse and who you have next to you is sometimes more important than the problem.
Combining deep observability, AIOps and application security, Dynatrace’s platform helps teams understand the performance of their applications and the user experience.
What is your role, and what attracted you to Dynatrace? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
I’m a site reliability engineer on the FedRAMP team, responsible for ensuring “Dynatrace for government” runs smoothly for our public-sector customers. I develop internal practices and workflows that empower the SRE team and our support partners to anticipate challenges and remediate them more quickly and securely.
At a previous job, I had worked with several of Dynatrace’s competitors to implement observability for Kubernetes workloads. Throughout this experience, I quickly realized how inconsistent the user experience could be with those solutions. When I applied to Dynatrace and went through the interview process, I had the chance to try out their platform and was immediately impressed by how easy it was to get started. Unlike other tools, Dynatrace made setting up more specific and tailored monitoring a smooth and efficient experience. On top of that, the passion and curiosity demonstrated by my future team during the interviews made me feel that Dynatrace was where I was meant to take the next step in my career. Working with a team as passionate and curious as I am to deliver one of the world’s best observability experiences made the decision to join an easy one.
“Working with a team as passionate and curious as I am to deliver one of the world’s best observability experiences made the decision to join an easy one.”
What's your favorite part about working at Dynatrace?
It’s hard to name a single favorite part of working at Dynatrace. On the technical side, the highly regulated environment presents unique challenges. While this can make solving daily problems more complex, the sense of accomplishment when finding solutions makes it all the more rewarding in the end.
As someone who values forward momentum and progress in all things, I find it especially encouraging and motivating to work here, where employees are supported to grow both their skills and career. Dynatrace recognizes your successes, provides feedback to help you improve, and offers many growth opportunities within the organization to foster your own development.
What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
Be curious! Being comfortable in ambiguity, where you’ll have to explore or build new paths to accomplish a goal, is a must on our team. Show us you have a growth mindset, experiment often and ask questions — both literally to your team and figuratively of the systems and challenges you’re working on.
McCain Foods is a global food company that operates various retail consumer brands, such as Brew City and Hebro, and prioritizes sustainable farming practices as well as resource-efficient operations.
What is your role, and what attracted you to McCain Foods? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
My team oversees all technology products, applications and solutions in the integrated supply chain space, from transportation to business planning. I’m originally from Colombia, and I moved to Florenceville, New Brunswick back in 2000 with my husband because of McCain. Transitioning from a big city lifestyle to a small town with only a few hundred people at that time was a big change for me to say the least. But the people in this community have been nothing but welcoming. They recognize how difficult it was for us to move to a foreign country, and they are so caring, helpful and open to accept us as part of their lives. It’s a strong sense of community that has made us want to stay.
“It’s a strong sense of community that has made us want to stay.”
What's your favorite part about working at McCain Foods?
During my 20 years of tenure here, I had the opportunity to work in many different areas within our technology space, including technology program development, business system analysis and project management. My husband and I also had the opportunity to relocate to Argentina for five years, which was a great internal mobility experience for us as well.
We love the fact that we are able to live in a tight-knit community where people look out for each other, and we feel safe and included while raising our family, but we also get to work for a global company where opportunities are literally around every corner you take. It’s the best of both worlds, truly.

Navan is a corporate travel and expense software company that makes travel and expense easy.
What is your role, and what attracted you to Navan? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
I am currently a senior sales development representative manager, overseeing the enterprise west team. Prior to that, I held a plethora of roles at Navan, including marketing development representative, SDR, intern manager and commercial SDR manager. I was attracted to Navan for three major reasons: career mobility, financial autonomy and, most importantly, a high-performance environment. I knew I’d found the right fit when I saw I was surrounded by people who were continuously challenging each other to be the best versions of themselves in order to learn, be successful and drive toward both their own and shared goals.
“I knew I’d found the right fit when I saw I was surrounded by people who were continuously challenging each other to be the best versions of themselves in order to learn, be successful and drive toward both their own and shared goals.”
What’s your favorite part about working at Navan?
My favorite part about working at Navan is and has always been the people. Regardless of tenure, role, segment or function of the business, there is always someone jumping in to help and develop you. I came into contact with it as a new hire, excitedly meeting new people every single day who carved out time in their day just to introduce themselves. I’ve experienced it throughout two cross-country moves, being embraced from Austin to Salt Lake City to San Francisco by the people at every office. I strive to live it out as my truth now, devoting my time to the development of others.
What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
There are three traits that stand out to me from candidates who ultimately turn into some of the most successful reps I’ve worked alongside or managed directly: curiosity, grit and discipline. Individuals who possess these innate traits and can not only embody them in personal representation but provide real-life examples of how they’ve shown up in their life will undoubtedly crush the interview process and have an incredibly bright future ahead of them at Navan.
Notion enables teams to manage projects, calendars, roadmaps and more in one place.
What is your role, and what attracted you to Notion? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
I’m a software engineer at Notion focusing on product engineering. When I was looking for my next career opportunity, I was quite picky. I wanted to be in a place that was doing more good for society, and where I could have good ownership that would directly provide value to users. I come from startup roots, so I wanted to be experimental and directly collaborate with users without having to deal with large layers of red tape. I wanted to focus on building and shipping.
That’s where Notion came into play. I was attracted to the “startup-y” growth phase that the company was in and the strong tie to the communities of users that depend and rely on this product. I learned that ambassadors often have the opportunity to work with teams directly to determine how features work, and I thought “Yeah, that’s the type of connection I’m looking for!”
What’s your favorite part about working at Notion?
I enjoy how grounded we are with our community. While working on features, I can say, “Hey, let’s see how ambassadors are using this and get their input on how it could work!” and receive valuable feedback. I love knowing that the features we build matter to users, even the small improvements. It was incredible seeing the projects my team and I shipped presented during our user conference called “Make With Notion” while watching the live reactions from ambassadors and others in the audience. It’s been exciting to see how they use our tools to build their businesses and personal systems.
Notion is in an interesting position with lots of work to be done, which means there’s plenty of room to explore different parts of the company. While I have a home base team, I’ve had opportunities to work on various initiatives, like AI-related projects. I gain new perspectives, bring those ideas back to my home team, and share them. Plus, everyone I’ve met across all roles has been truly genuine and kind.
“Notion is in an interesting position with lots of work to be done, which means there’s plenty of room to explore different parts of the company.”
What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
Don’t be afraid to wear different hats. Even if you apply as an engineer, there are so many opportunities to flex and build other skills, like becoming opinionated in product decisions, pulling and analyzing metrics and even having a hand at UI/UX decisions.
Maxar Technologies collects satellite imagery to provide customers with insights that can be used to bolster national security, inform disaster response and more.
What is your role, and what attracted you to Maxar Technologies? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
I’m a junior software engineer working for the U.S. government division of Maxar Intelligence. While completing my bachelor’s degree in computer science, I was on the hunt for summer internships and primarily looking for companies that work on government contracts. After attending an information session that Maxar hosted for my university and researching on my own, I became fascinated with Maxar’s satellite imaging capabilities and knew I wanted to be a part of the community that makes that innovation happen.
I landed the internship that summer and received a return offer for my current role once I graduated. Accepting the offer to return was an easy choice — I knew this team would be a good fit for me since throughout my internship I felt like an important member of my team with a valued perspective even while still learning the ropes.
What’s your favorite part about working at Maxar Intelligence?
One of my favorite parts about working at Maxar Intelligence is that I feel like I have a purpose and a hand in developing important and valuable solutions for our customers. At Maxar, all the work we do feels important, so it’s rewarding to know that I’m able to contribute to that. My team’s culture is a benefit of working here, too. Since day one, my knowledge and the perspective I bring to the table has been respected and valued, but I’ve also been encouraged to step outside of my comfort zone to learn new skills and get hands-on with various projects. I love being able to develop and broaden my skill set as I step into my career while being supported by my team.
“I love being able to develop and broaden my skill set as I step into my career while being supported by my team.”

What's your favorite part about working at Altium?
Working with great people and brilliant minds! This applies not only to the incredible team at Altium but also to our amazing customers. “At Altium, you have the opportunity to be part of a movement that is transforming industries and shaping the future.”
What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
Two attributes that stand out to me are “caring” and “ownership.” You should genuinely care about the work you do, the people around you and the impact of your efforts. Taking ownership means being accountable, striving for excellence and seeing things through to the end. When you care and take ownership, you don’t just contribute — you make a real difference.

What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
Job seekers aiming for data engineering roles should create a career plan. This plan should encompass learning new technologies and skills, networking with professionals in your desired field and building a portfolio to showcase your abilities. Companies are increasingly focusing on skills-based hiring, so it’s important to demonstrate your skills before the interview.
During my job search, I attended every networking event, training session, bootcamp, volunteer opportunity and conference I could. I tracked the number of people I met, the engagement from my LinkedIn posts, the hours I studied, the jobs I applied to and the connections I made. This helped me secure my desired role at Cargill and also highlighted my data analytics skills.

Squarespace’s platform enables brands and organizations to build websites and promote their businesses through email marketing, SEO tools and more.
What is your role, and what attracted you to Squarespace? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
I am an engineering team manager for the websites team in Dublin, Ireland. What really attracted me to the role at Squarespace was the opportunity to help grow a real engineering presence in Ireland and be a key part of the company’s future. I knew I’d found the right fit when I met the team and saw how deeply they cared about both the product and the people working on it. It wasn’t just about technical skills; it was about collaboration, impact and making sure that, as the company grows, the engineering culture grows with it.
What’s your favorite part about working at Squarespace?
One of my favorite things about working at Squarespace is the combination of technical challenge and meaningful impact. The website and CMS platform is at the core of the company, and working on it means solving complex engineering problems that directly affect millions of users. There’s a real focus on building scalable, maintainable systems while also modernizing the platform, which keeps things exciting from a technical perspective.
Beyond the work itself, the team culture is a huge plus. The engineers here are collaborative, thoughtful and genuinely invested in both the product and each other’s success. There’s a strong emphasis on mentorship and knowledge-sharing, which makes it a great place to grow, whether you’re early in your career or looking to take on bigger architectural challenges.

Squarespace is a product-driven company, and the best engineers here care deeply about the end-user experience. Beyond writing code, it’s about understanding how your work impacts millions of people who rely on our platform to build and grow their online presence and/or business. Engineering here is also highly collaborative — working closely with other engineers, designers and product managers is a big part of what makes our team successful. Being open to different perspectives, sharing knowledge and solving problems together are just as important as technical expertise.

Cohere Health offers intelligent prior authorization in an effort to align patients, healthcare providers and health plans on an optimal care path that drives the best possible outcomes without high costs and burdensome administrative tasks.
What is your role, and what attracted you to Cohere Health? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
I’m an engineering manager at Cohere Health, leading the clinical intelligence team. Our team focuses on building technology that streamlines the prior authorization process within the healthcare industry. Cohere Health, founded in 2019, is a fast-paced, rapidly growing startup that aims to remove unnecessary delays in patient care by enabling faster access to healthcare services.
What truly sets Cohere Health apart is how we leverage AI and machine learning models to enhance the accuracy of decision-making. Our product uses these models to intelligently assess prior authorization requests, identifying cases that can be auto-approved and escalating more complex scenarios to nurses or physicians for personalized review. This combination of AI-powered automation and human expertise ensures patients receive timely care without compromising clinical oversight.
What’s your favorite part about working at Cohere Health?
What I love most about working at Cohere Health is the perfect blend of innovation, collaboration and growth. From a technology standpoint, Cohere Health truly breaks the mold of traditional healthcare tech. Our tech stack embraces cutting-edge tools and frameworks, far from the rigid legacy systems often seen in the industry. What’s even more exciting is the company’s forward-thinking mindset; if there’s a strong case for a new technology, there’s an open door to explore it. This constant push for innovation keeps us agile and future-focused.
“This constant push for innovation keeps us agile and future-focused.”
What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
In today’s competitive job market, where AI and machine learning dominate every conversation, my advice is simple: Don’t lose sight of the fundamentals. While it’s great to stay curious about the latest innovations, having a solid grasp of core software development principles and foundational technologies is what truly sets candidates apart. At Cohere Health, we value engineers who not only understand how to build with cutting-edge tools but also know when — and why — to use them.
Another key piece of advice is to master the art of storytelling when discussing your project experiences. It’s not just about what you built — it’s about the story behind it. When sharing your work, set the stage by explaining the project’s context and its impact. Talk about your role, the challenges you faced, the trade-offs you navigated and how you collaborated with cross-functional partners.
FloQast’s AI-powered platform is designed to help accounting teams automate reconciliations, streamline recurring processes and more.
What is your role, and what attracted you to FloQast? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
I am an engineering manager at FloQast with 15 years of experience, including more than a decade at startups. I love building things, understanding them and improving them. Startups have given me the chance to be deeply hands-on not just with technology but also in hiring, coaching and helping teams grow at every level. That blend of technical and leadership opportunities is what I find fulfilling, and it’s what drew me to FloQast.
One of the things that caught my attention was the company’s engineering blog. It signaled to me that this was a place where bright, passionate people cared about what they were building and were also proud to share their work. That transparency and enthusiasm speaks volumes about culture. Moreover, I knew I had found the right fit when I first met the members on my team. Every person I spoke with was genuinely engaged not just in the technical side of their work but in the bigger picture of why we build what we build. Too often in engineering, teams get caught up in the “what” and lose sight of the “why.” At FloQast, that connection is never lost and the clarity of purpose stuck with me.
What’s your favorite part about working at FloQast?
Without a doubt, the collaborative culture. In an increasingly remote world, it’s rare to find an environment where cross-team communication feels effortless. At FloQast, people across all departments are eager to jump in, whether it’s answering a question, lending a hand or hopping on a call. That level of support and teamwork makes a huge difference. One of my favorite aspects of this culture is how open and approachable everyone is, regardless of title or department. If you have an idea, people listen. If you need help, someone is always willing to step up. This type of environment is a real incubator for innovation, because people feel comfortable sharing and iterating ideas at every level.

There’s an emphasis on continuous improvement not just in our products but also in how we work. Whether it’s refining processes, mentoring newer team members or improving how we interface with our customers, there’s a strong mindset of growth. Some of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on have been those where we partnered closely with customers to make their lives easier in practical ways. It’s incredibly fulfilling to collaborate with users who are excited that we listen to, respond and execute on features that make a difference in their daily operations. There’s something special about working at a company that values customer feedback and turns it into meaningful action.
What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
Come ready to learn and grow. FloQast is a place where motivated individuals can have a real impact, and there are no limits to the ways we can improve our customers’ lives. If you're excited about solving meaningful problems, working with a passionate team, and continuously pushing yourself to improve, you’ll thrive here. Beyond technical skills, one of the most valuable traits is curiosity. The best engineers I’ve worked with aren’t just great at writing code — they ask questions, challenge assumptions and think critically about how to make things better. If that sounds like you, this is a place where you’ll have real opportunities to contribute and grow. And the last piece of advice: Be ready to embrace the collaborative culture. Be proactive, communicate openly and don’t hesitate to reach out to people across different teams. Some of the best ideas and solutions come from those unexpected cross-functional conversations. If you take the time to understand FloQast’s mission and how your role contributes to it, you’ll find that engineers here don’t just write code — we solve real problems for real customers. The more you connect with that, the more rewarding your work will be.
eClinical Solutions’ clinical data platform is designed to enable life sciences companies to accelerate clinical research by understanding and analyzing their data more effectively.
What is your role, and what attracted you to eClinical Solutions? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.
I’m currently doing development work for the statistical computing environment in our elluminate platform, a cloud-based application built for life sciences data integration and analytics. SCE allows programmers and statisticians to develop and maintain programs and scripts from popular programming languages, such as SAS, R and Python, and execute those programs against data within the platform.
During my job search, it was important for me to know that my work makes a difference, and eClinical Solutions certainly fits the bill. I was instantly attracted to the company’s employee-friendly atmosphere after watching a set of videos recorded for eClinical’s 10-year anniversary. While going through the interview process, everyone I spoke with was very respectful and welcoming. After a technical session with the SCE team lead, I was impressed by his technical expertise and approachability. That’s when I thought: “This is it!” I realized I can learn and grow here.
What's your favorite part about working at eClinical Solutions? The projects, the team culture, the opportunities for career advancement?
I just love that I can go and talk to anyone, including those on our leadership team who are very involved in everything happening in the company. eClinical takes really good care of its employees. If you are doing a good job, you will hear about it, and I feel valued and appreciated for the work I’m doing. We have many talented developers who take their time to explain things to you if you have any questions. The company’s focus is on solving problems, which creates a positive work environment. This approach lets developers be more creative and concentrate on the quality of the work rather than fearing to make a mistake. I think it explains why we have such a successful platform.

What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?
We’re looking for developers who enjoy what they do. You might not have experience with all the platforms and programming languages listed on the job posting, but if you have the right approach to problem-solving and like programming, you can thrive here. Technology is a fast-changing field, so you must be willing to constantly learn and do things you have never done before. Soft skills are also important. Everyone at eClinical is very open and approachable. If you have an interesting idea, our CTO has an open door to discuss it. Team members across groups find time to help one another. We work together and everyone feels connected to the common goal, which makes the work so much more fulfilling.
