Our founders Maarten and Dimitri started Loop back with a big idea. And a chronic ringing in their ears. Since then, we’ve helped more than 3,500,000 customers around the world to find quiet, enjoy great experiences and keep unwanted noise at bay. 
In 2023 we grew from almost 100 Loopers to over 250 people. And that’s a number we would have to keep updating every month, as we are planning to double the team once again, this year.

Our headquarters are based in Antwerp, but with hubs in Amsterdam, Shanghai, and New York, we’re dotted all over the globe. 

Not to brag about it, but we’ve recently won the EY Scale up of the year award, the Deloitte Fast50 award (for the second year in a row) and a couple of other amazing (international) prices. The New York Times named us ‘best earplugs for concerts’ and thousands of noise-sensitive customers call us a ‘life changer’.

This is a hybrid position, and the opportunity is open for candidates in the following Locations (Antwerp, Belgium) & (Amsterdam, Netherlands). We can provide relocation assistance to these locations. 

About the role

Imagine this: a scaling company embarking on a wild rollercoaster ride of rapid growth, with a few exhilarating people challenges thrown in for good measure! 🚀 We're seeking a VP of People at Loop, someone who's taken a company through the thrilling journey of scaling before and knows how to scale successfully.  
 
As our VP you'll be our driving force behind the development and build out our high performing Loop team, our culture, and employer proposition on a global scale. With big plans of growing a global team to 500 before the end of 2024 and even 800 by the end of 2025, you’ll be leading the charge in driving our people organization's growth and development. We're currently riding the wave of rapid expansion and are on the lookout for a leader with a visionary outlook who's surfed the highs and lows of these transformative phases and can guide us through, with an even more exciting journey beyond. 
 
This is a key position where you’ll be part of our Leadership team; we have 6 VP positions planned in total with the VP People reporting to our co-founder, Maarten. We strongly believe that our People & Culture are crucial to our company's success and need you to set a clear People vision and strategy for scaling internationally in new markets, which set Loop up for success. You will be the driving force behind building and heading up the global People team, Employee Experience and Employer Brand. 
 
We’ve set the bar high for our leadership track, and it won’t be easy, but the floor is yours and we are open to learning from and with you. Long story short; you’ll raise the bar and extend the ceiling to elevate our People and Culture proposition to new heights. 


What you’ll do:  

  • Develop and execute a visionary People strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives to ensure that people initiatives support the overall business strategy by closely collaborating with our founders and company leaders. 
  • Oversee recruitment efforts, to attract top-tier talent quickly and efficiently, ensuring the workforce can scale to meet business needs. 
  • Safeguard and nurture the company's culture, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that adapts and scales with the organization.
  • Manage, inspire and motivate your team that exists of; director talent acquisition, sr. manager people, people business partners, people operations & happiness, talent acquisition partners and employer branding specialists.
  • Invest in leadership development programs to build a strong leadership pipeline, essential for guiding the organization through rapid growth.
  • Elevate our employee engagement score, eNPS, wellbeing, and foster an inclusive, diverse culture.
  • Oversee and support the team to shape a magnetic employer brand that makes us the cream of the crop for talent in Belgium & the Netherlands (think product, marketing, and more).
  • Promote diversity and inclusion efforts to create a workplace where all employees feel valued and included, which is crucial during periods of expansion.
  • Master a hybrid strategy that unites, empowers, and supercharges productivity. Pioneer the art of top talent scouting across the globe and sculpting a recruitment strategy that identifies A-players with pinpoint precision.
  • Keep a watchful eye on our people budget and navigating its evolution. 

Who you are:  

  • You bring 10+ years of strategically leading People management experience leading a multidisciplinary team of HR Business Partners, People Operations Officers, Recruiters, and Employer Branding specialists.  
  • You have a track record of leading, mentoring, and inspiring management teams and People & Culture teams internationally. 
  • You bring a strategic, positive, and refreshing People & Culture mindset, with an inexhaustible appetite for adventure and speed. 
  • You can confidently plan and manage financial forecasts and budgets. 
  • You know how to manage stakeholders and know how to get things done by bringing structure & prioritization with tact and organizational savviness.
  • You led an organization through a similar scaling phase before and thrive on these dynamics with your unparalleled execution power and drive to create a unique People & Culture approach.
  • You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • You are results-oriented, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and a track record of achieving goals.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities. 

Location: 

  • For this specific role we expect on-site presence from one of our hubs in Amsterdam or Antwerp, where most of our people and leadership teams are based.
