Cox Automotive brand is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Connected Consumer Release train.
Job Summary:
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Automotive Authentication Team, you will be a leader on the team that designs and develops robust and scalable applications. You will implement data access services that operate with maximum throughput and minimum latency.
You will be an accomplished, well-rounded developer with a solid understanding of the appropriate use of best practices and frameworks for high volume data processing and analytics. You will mentor junior engineers on good software practices. You will be passionate about exploring the use of innovative technologies and techniques and evaluating them for suitability in our environment.
Your Role:

  • Design and develop code that consistently adheres to good software practices.
  • Design, develop, and maintain our applications using industry standard tools like React, Python and various AWS services like SQS, Lambda, API Gateways to name a few.
  • Collaborate with product managers and technologists to solve business problems.
  • Mentor junior engineers with all aspects of software development
  • Live by Agile (particularly Scrum) principles and collaborate with team members using Agile techniques including test driven development, code reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain Cox Automotive position as an industry leader by exploring innovative technologies, languages, and techniques in the rapidly evolving world of digital marketing.

  • Experience designing and developing platform level components including event architectures, messaging, and caching is a plus.
  • Experience writing frontends, particularly in JavaScript, is a plus


Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience. a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 16 years' experience in a related field.
  • 4+ years of professional application development experience with a proven ability to deliver projects on time
  • Strong SQL skills, familiar with complex functions and capable of working in large datasets.
  • Ability to work with other IT groups and business users.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver results quickly in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
  • Working experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components, client-facing web applications, and major Internet-oriented applications and systems
  • Working experience realizing applications from conception and design, to implementation and support
  • Working experience in analysis, design and programming
  • Working experience in coding within multiple technology stacks
  • Front End :
    • CSS (Bootstrap, MUI)
    • JavaScript, TypeScript
    • React (preferred)
    • State container frameworks such as Redux
  • Back End :
    • Java
    • Python
    • Relational databases, Oracle and MySQL as well as NoSQL like DynamoDB
  • Cloud
    • AWS (certification desirable but not required)
  • Application monitoring experience is a plus.
  • Working experience operating within an Agile application development methodology


USD 97,100.00 - 161,800.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $97,100.00 - $161,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
