What does a Sr. Software Architect do at Fluence?

• Guides Fluence programs to build reliable, performant, maintainable, and secure enterprise applications. 
• Develops comprehensive documentation and design artifacts to meticulously capture and articulate solution designs, architectural decisions, and technology evaluations, ensuring clarity and accessibility for the development team, stakeholders, and future reference. 
• Ensures solution designs conform and comply with enterprise architecture standards and principles. 
• Constantly reviews the code to ensure the quality of designs by avoiding complexity, advocating clarity, and directly interacting with the team. This usually requires hands-on work in terms of developing prototypes, contributing code, or evaluating technologies. 
• Coaches development team members on following architecture practices 
• Evaluates solution alternatives that involve different architectures, design patterns, and frameworks; may include hardware component evaluations as well. 
• Collaborates with an enterprise architect through architecture reviews to ensure all designs meet the overall technical and business goals of Fluence.

Waht does the ideal candidate look like?

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field from an accredited university. Significant related work experience will be considered in place of a degree. 
• 7+ years of hands-on experience building complex enterprise scale applications or COTS software with a mix of on premise and cloud deployment methods. 
• Strong theoretical and practical experience in systematic software engineering and software architecture. 
• Experience in evaluating and improving the performance, security, scalability, reliability, and robustness of large industrial-grade software systems. 
• Ability to analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, apply critical and creative thinking to draw conclusions or develop solutions to complex problems. 
• An ever-expanding mind that is adept at conceptualizing complex ideas quickly and conveying those thoughts to others in a clear, effective, and motivating manner.
