About the Role
Magna Steyr is looking for talented and experienced team members in complete vehicle development who are determined and passionate about developing the next level industry standard for vehicle architectures and production solutions. The senior engineer of customer function is responsible to lead early concept of product definition thru the aid of physical and web-based benchmark, as well as customer inputs and marketing Clinique events; additional responsibility includes steering of development and validation of functional requirements in the area of UI/UX, HMI, storage concepts, benchmark, safety in use and customer-oriented vehicle durability. This position has a high level of responsibility and visibility and will interface with OEMs, Magna divisions, global module group teams, performance attribute leaders and testing resources.
Your Responsibilities

  • Lead/co-lead product definition activities and creation/alignment of feature list
  • Lead/co-lead operating concept / Switch map in alignment with Styling, VA & EE
    • Lead development of all texts, color profile and surface finishes for switches including look and feel.
    • Integration of switches according to concept design, operating strategy, perceive quality requirements with customer-oriented focus.
    • Lead Clinique events for competitive evaluation for witches coloring strategy.
  • Lead target catalog creation and target setting of customer oriented functional items including operating comfort of primary and secondary control devices, seat's function and comfort, ground clearance, driver assistant systems, safety in use, and customer-oriented durability and quality.
  • Support creation and execution of the Design Verification Plan (DVP) including lead the winter & summer test evaluation of customer-oriented functions in the area of UI/UX, HMI, storage concepts, benchmark, safety in use and customer-oriented vehicle durability
  • Responsible to provide specifications and perform studies to define the Human Machine Interface (HMI) regarding operating concept and high-level definition of layout
  • Support documentation for the Prototype Functional Acceptance (PTFA) and Road Release (RR) for Mules and Prototypes
  • Lead Functional Confirmation for HMI, seating comfort and further customer functions
  • Support definition and execution of vehicle durability and quality test procedures according to customer/market requirements


Who we are looking for
Project Planning, Target Achievement, Monitoring & Reporting• Employ technical expertise to lead the engineering development of one or more subsystems• Support the project team(s) engineering in achieving project objectives, performance and cost requirements, and timing milestones• Confirm OEM and magna project cost and timing targets and assure the targets are achievable
Project Related Interface • Support and Promote Project and Operations Collaboration • Collaborate with the Product Development team to assure test scope and timing alignment• Support Vehicle Functions Manager and Technical Manager with technical input to make complex decisions• Lead management buy off rides internal or external with customers
Employee Related Tasks• Ensure cooperation with all areas within the engineering and request the required frame conditions• Ensure cooperation with project management and Technical Manager and across functional teams • Ensure each component and subsystem is compliant with safety integrity level defined• Secure knowledge of verification methods within the program
Your preferred qualifications
• Education- Bachelor's degree in Engineering • Experience - 10+years in complete vehicle development • Experience - 10+years in complete vehicle development and validation• Experience supervising or managing technical personnel preferred• Excellent communication skills and experience working with global teams• Experience with at least one project from feasibility to SOP preferred• Experience in verification of work products of mechatronic system• Experience with BEV vehicles
