Job Overview

This Technical Project Manager IV role is on the PlatoBI team – a modern reporting infrastructure running on QuickSight and Snowflake that enables analytics reporting, ad hoc reporting and DataShare.  

Our Technical Project Manager IV acts as both Scrum Master and Product Owner on their Scrum Team; has a passion for product design, development and technical excellence; and demonstrates a mastery of Agile project management.  

Essential Responsibilities of this Role 

• You will think critically about all aspects of the work to determine what is needed on the project. 
• You are comfortable working with distributed teams. You understand that global teams require flexibility; therefore, you are willing to adjust your approach to processes and tools to best support the team and you are willing to shift hours to accommodate a variety of schedules once or twice a week. This could mean some early mornings (6am CDT) or late nights (10pm CDT).
• You will lead projects from inception to close, with superb planning and communication skills to establish timelines, prioritize work, and manage stakeholder expectations. This includes collaboration with internal stakeholders like Hosting, Support, Services, Sales and other product teams that are integrating with PlatoBI.
• You will support Product Management and the PlatoBI Architect to facilitate productive discussions to establish requirements and designs; to document and refine requirements and collaborate with the team to plan their work.
• You are a go-getter and your attitude and energy align well with this ambitious, high-performing team. 
• You are a master of Agile development methodology and supporting frameworks. Therefore, you know when to follow the rules and when to break them in order to best support and enable your team.
• You can write, groom, and prioritize user stories and clearly document requirements with a solid business understanding and strong attention to detail
• You will lead all scrum team activities and manage related artifacts.
• You will drive efficiency and on-time completion of roadmap items.
• You will guide your delivery team to execute on defined requirements, remove blocking issues from day-to-day operations of the team, and identify and communicate risks
• You will be responsible for product release planning and ensuring all release-related tasks are completed.  
• You are a skilled servant leader and will strongly serve and support the Development Team in their quest to do everything possible to bring value to customers. 
• You excel at creative and technical problem solving. 
• You can facilitate discussions, decision making and conflict resolution.  

Who you are: 

• 5-7 years in product, project or program management; preferably in web application-based product company; experience in business analytics/AI-ML/reporting a plus 
• Can demonstrate deep skill with all responsibilities listed above with the ability to execute on those responsibilities with mastery 
• Capable of project managing two projects at the same time from concept to client implementation without supervision 
• Capable of working with the Product Manager and Designer to drive Discovery work in preparation for two projects 
• Excellent practical experience with project management and use of the Agile Development Methodology; ability to coach your team to improve in their practices 
• Agile Certified Professional and/or Certified Scrum Master, preferred 
• Proficiency with project management tools like the Atlassian Suite or Azure DevOps 
• Strong analytical skills 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences 
• Demonstrated record driving key initiatives and timelines with minimal supervision 
• Ability to creatively solve challenging business/technology problems 
• Passionate to make things better at every opportunity

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
