The Position

The Operations Technology Associate will be responsible for coordinating the PV and BESS facility Server, Network, and ISP management programs at Arevon. The role will be part of the Asset Management and Operations team and will report directly to the Manager, SCADA &Operations.  The Operations Technology Associate will work diligently to maximize system output by coordinating with various teams within Arevon, including but not limited to, the Performance Engineering team, Asset Management team, Procurement team, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate efforts towards procurement of Site Servers, Site Networks, and Internet Service Providers (ISP) towards upcoming standalone PV, PV+ Energy Storage and standalone energy storage (ESS) projects.
  • Perform technical due diligence towards upcoming technologies in energy storage and plant control systems.
  • Work closely with the SCADA and Controls developers towards understanding plant controls requirements for individual projects.
  • Review site network drawings and designs.  Provide cybersecurity, network and system specification design deliverables to address cybersecurity risks.
  • Act as an SME to develop a robust and reliable security controls methodology for assets and provide support to various teams within Arevon when necessary.
  • Perform or coordinate vendors to perform periodic patching and updating of Operations Technology assets.
  • Lead the efforts to troubleshoot connectivity, data, and control issues.
  • Perform or coordinate vendors to perform the Installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of remote servers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Coordinate the Operations Technology Vendors during O&M turnover and throughout the O&M phase of the project.
  • Assist in the development of remote monitoring systems.
  • Ensure that every project is compliant with requirements stated by NERC, WECC and the interconnection facility.
  • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Manager, SCADA & Operations.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 (Associate) / 3-6 (Senior Associate) years of experience preferred; exceptional entry-level candidates will be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial controls system operations technology or utility scale solar / battery energy storage control systems operations. technology. Candidates with exceptional information technology knowledge will be considered.
  • Experience in dealing with control systems and communication infrastructures related to automation.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate complex technical explanations.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with others under all situations.
  • Work within a project team, as well as to analyze, troubleshoot and prioritize problems independently.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Understand safety principles, to safely work on equipment.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 additional years of related experience OR 2-year technical degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Computer Technology or equivalent OR 4-year degree from an accredited university in engineering, mathematics, business, or similar discipline with background in control systems and communication networks.
