Reporting to the Director, Merchandise Planning, the Merchandise Planning Manager, Omni at The RealReal, you will be responsible for supporting demand & supply strategies across multiple categories & channels. Managers are responsible for analyzing, identifying and communicating opportunities and providing risk-mitigation strategies. This role will be integral in developing a holistic view of business, and helping teams prioritize and drive optimal TRR performance.

What You Get To Do Every Day

  • Manage the development of yearly, quarterly, monthly merchandise plans
  • Support Director of Planning in analyzing high level performance and communicating risk, opportunities and action plans to Executive Leadership team
  • Evaluate and create processes and tools in support of continuous improvement efforts; oversee the roll out of our new virtual inventory channel with responsibility for developing reporting with the team to effectively manage the business
  • Manage take rate for both overall Vendor business and owned inventory with the goal of driving company profitability;  Owned inventory management will include overseeing Open to Buy.
  • Develop recommendations for demand promotions based on data analysis and business needs; partner with site merchandising and marketing team to create omni channel events
  • Drive optimal inventory mix through supply initiatives and partnership with the Vendor team
  • Partner with Business Analytics team ensuring we have the right KPI’s to read business;  assist in development of new reporting and ways of looking at data
  • Develop relationships & collaborate with Vendor, Retail and Merchandising partners

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degree a plus
  • Ability to work onsite 1-2 days a week
  • 5+ years of proven success in merchandise planning, inventory management, financial planning, strategy, and/or business analytics
  • 1+ years of experience leading and developing direct reports
  • Proficiency with Excel & Google Suite required, familiarity with Looker a plus
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling & problem solving skills. Experience with retail math and inventory management frameworks are crucial to success
  • Ability to handle multiple work streams with proven success in analyzing large data sets related to a wide variety of business problems
  • Creative problem solver who is highly motivated by creating new solutions and able to challenge the status quo
  • Team player able to work effectively and collaboratively across all departments to meet goals

The expected salary range for this role is $117,007 - $140,760. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
