Job Overview

Responsible to plan, develop, implement, and maintain all EHS Programs for the facility with the primary objective of eliminating workplace injuries and maintaining facility compliance.

A Day In The Life

  • Develop and maintain written EHS programs for the facility.
  • Develop and administer programs to reduce work-related injuries and accidents.
  • Track and report on leading and lagging safety metrics. Analyze data and work with plant supervision on ideas for improvement.
  • Complete Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's/JSA's) and risk reduction activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local EHS regulations and interact with these agencies as required.
  • Implement and uphold internal company policies, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Develop and provide EHS training to employees as needed.
  • Lead permitting and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Sponsor and provide guidance to the site's Safety Committee.
  • Coordinate activities with business unit and Corporate EHS managers.
  • All other duties assigned.

  • Strong working knowledge of safety and environmental compliance.
  • Familiarity in dealing with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and works well in teams.
  • Ability to influence others with positive, constructive communication.
  • Problem solver that will collaborate with other departments to develop mutually agreeable solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Education:

  • Associate degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental discipline or equivalent with 1-3 years EHS experience preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Prior work experience with relevant EHS duties can be substituted for degree requirements.
  • Compensation is based on skills and experience with a salary range of $52,000-$65,000.
