Continuous Improvement Manager

The Role:
The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for driving optimization activities involving schedule attainment, productivity planning and execution, ergonomics, and safety to streamline material processes with advanced technologies through man, method, or machine by eliminating waste.
What You'll Do:
- Drives manufacturing innovation and new technologies.
- Implements projects to improve department cost drivers.
- Uphold safe work practices as the highest priority and implements objectives for ergonomics and health/safety.
- Leads GMS compliance and department Business Plan Deployment objectives
- Supports and engages the Throughput Improvement Process (TIP) to ensure schedule attainment
- Supports Launch Readiness for new or mid-cycle programs
- Communicates and coordinates changes within the department
- Participate and drive corrective actions for GCA/DRR/DRL related items
- Assist Area Manager to develop budget/forecasts and develop plans for departmental gaps
- Develop and submits Manufacturing Business Cases for cost reductions
- Develop and implement department productivity plan using the LMS Wall driving countermeasures and target completion
- Develop and execute CIP workshop schedule
- Lead department waste elimination activities
- Coordinate productivity execution meetings between CIP team, Maintenance, Quality, Material and Safety
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing
- High level of problem solving and issue resolution aptitude
- Technical aptitude for automated processes and mobile equipment
- Strong knowledge of Automotive Assembly application and operations.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with autonomy and accountability for results
- Demonstrated initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and help others
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing operation.
- Thorough knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Equipment
- Familiar with latest technology in autonomous mobile equipment
- Strategic thinking and ability to plan for new technology from inception to completion
- Prior working relationship with manufacturers with concept and integration designs
- Prior experience working on cross-functional teams
