As an Associate Writer, you’ll work within a collaborative team environment to tackle various topics that affect our readers. In particular, you’ll focus on keeping stories and guides up-to-date with the latest information and expert advice.

*Our ideal candidate will work in the office in a hybrid role; office locations include New York and Charlotte. We are open to remote candidates as well. 

*This role is in a bargaining unit represented by a labor union, the Writers Guild of America, East.What You’ll Do

  • Flex your top-tier writing and communication skills
  • Join a collaborative team of writers and thinkers to research and write a variety of assigned stories
  • Meet assigned deadlines (varies)
  • Partner with subject-matter experts and SEO teammates to innovate and create quality content
  • Work within our CMS to publish your work
  • Think creatively and flexibly about tasks and challenges
  • Embrace feedback from colleagues to become a pivotal member of a growing team

What We’re Looking For

  • BA or above in Journalism, Writing, English, Communications or commensurate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, self-motivated, collaborative attitude with managers and colleagues
  • Ability to pivot quickly among different projects
  • Team player who is quick to raise a helping hand and apply feedback in the spirit of growth
  • Curious, with a mindset for learning
  • Career-ready and looking for a publication to call home

Compensation

  • Cash Compensation Range: $42,000 - $55,000*
  • New York Compensation Range: $42,000 - $66,000*
    *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
