Assistant Proposal Specialist
Description and Requirements
Role Value Proposition
Coordinates intake, assignment and support of proposals, in pursuit of business for employer groups with 5,000+ employees (National Accounts).
Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational, project management, writing and communication skills, and the ability to work on multiple proposals simultaneously. Previous experience in the employee benefits marketplace and/or knowledge of the proposal process preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs the mechanical aspects of proposal production including word processing, assembly, presentation, packaging, and shipping independently or with other team members.
- Maintains case file templates by market segment to maximize efficiency in proposal production.
- Interfaces with Product and Marketing areas, and Customer Units to ensure consistent and up to date information is utilized at all times.
- Provides general marketing support for New Business and Client Service Consultants/Account Executives.
- Contributes to the maintenance and enhancement of the proposal Q&A database and Marketing Library.
- Handles the RFP intake process: Complexity evaluation, notification of assignment, coordinates and schedules strategy calls, and data entry of opportunities.
- Handles a variety of customer/prospect related projects as needed.
- Evaluate individual RFPs to determine appropriate reporting requests.
- Creation of accurate and timely reports by product, segment and/or initiative.
- Manages partnerships with the Global Operation Service Center and vendor partners.
- Participates in training programs; engages in the development of procedures and guidelines to enhance the RFP process and communicates these internally.
- Identifies and implements process changes to gain efficiencies and improve workflows; plays a lead role in piloting new processes and services related to our acquisition process; participates in project management groups.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills
Required:
- Associates or four-year degree from accredited institution with no prior experience required OR 2+ years related work experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred:
- Experience in Qvidian
- Previous experience in the employee benefits marketplace and/or knowledge of the proposal process
- Familiarity with Dental and Vision reporting (GeoAccess, Disruption, Discount Analysis, Repricing)

The wage range for applicants for this position is 41,600 to 60,200. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation..
