Summary

This Administrator, West Freight Forwarder will specialize in oversized cargo and will coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound traffic regarding the transportation of auto parts to/from U.S. manufacturing plants (Hyundai Motor Group Related Vendors and other 3PL vendors) with documentation, deliveries, and customs related operations.

Compensation Range

$63,000-$72,000/Annually (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Responsibilities

  • Provide Oversize Ocean Inbound/Outbound Operation Services
    • Manage and take ownership of the assigned Oversize cargo accounts with minimal supervision and assist with indirect supervision of employees assigned to irregular cargo
    • Coordinate daily with customers & inquiries - OOG / Oversize cargo
    • Manage day-to-day operation of freight and ensure complete customer satisfaction/service by facilitating timely and accurate communication
    • Follow-up on urgent team trucking along with drayage and transloading
    • Monitor/ update ocean inbound schedules, services, and update vendors of any document
    • Provide daily follow up to inbound accounts (tracing reports twice a day, including weekends if needed) via phone and/or e-mail
    • Monitor cargo data to confirm it is valid prior to send notifications to customers
    • Coordinate trucking (dispatching, tracking, tracing, prevention of detention/demurrage/Chassis, and other charges)
    • Direct and coordinate instructions for warehousing, storage, additional trucking, and final delivery to customers facility
    • Manage/control with operations, customers, and truckers to minimize unnecessary costs
    • Forward all appropriate documentation (Bill of Ladings/Customs documentation, Arrival Notice) to customers and customs related department
    • Ensure all charges are billed correctly, including detention/demurrage/pre-pull/port open charges
    • Trouble shoot and partial decision making in overall team truck operation with minimal supervision
  • Support Pricing & Quotation Duties
    • Support quotation inquiries from GKR and other 3PL customers
    • Network and develop new vendors to increase our logistics capacity
    • On a regular basis, will check and compare competitors' pricing and inform the industry price trend to the management to improve the company's profitability
    • Ensuring and pricing the safety of all involved while the load is being transported (Managing load permits, escort service, terminal charges, and other various cases)
    • Provide the most efficient route, mode of transportation, and innovating for alternative optional routes for cost-effectiveness and logistics solutions
  • Timely AR/AP Process for Both Local and Overseas Agents
    • Process AR/AP invoices and create reports for the accounting department
    • Prepare GLOVIS Korea settlement reports, reconcile data weekly and monthly
    • Manage and Administer accounts receivable thoroughly by working closely with customer and accounting departments.
    • Supporting and setting up a new Vendor/Customer bank account with the accounting department
    • Administer issuing and maintaining licenses & permits through the GLOVIS portal system in a timely manner
  • Maintain Data Updates in Operations System
    • Regularly maintain updates in the operation system (Genisys)
    • Maintain database/record-keeping in the system (shipment tracing data)
  • All Other Duties as Assigned
    • CT-PAT and contact/ insurance renewal management
    • Take charge of special projects as needed
    • Additional supporting tasks may be assigned occasionally
    • Manage and keep records of trucking insurance, COI, C-TPAT related validations, and JOC subscription

Qualifications

Skills

  • Bilingual in Korean Required
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills Required
  • Intermediate-level MS Excel is Required
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint is highly Preferred
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking ability Required
  • Must be detail-oriented Required
  • Preferred self-started that can operate under minimal supervision

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D Required
  • 3 years of experience Required, preferably in a similar field (Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain Management)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
  • Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
  • Stand/walk
