The Blackbird Academy is a new model in audio education that gives students access to true working professionals and hands-on experience using a world-class collection of gear in facilities designed for one purpose – making excellent music. The Blackbird Academy offers programs in audio engineering and live sound engineering. The Blackbird Academy was born from Blackbird Studio (owned by John & Martina McBride), one of the most outstanding recording destinations in the world. The rooms, consoles, microphones, outboard gear and lounges were chosen around a central concept: to provide the best audio production facilities for top musicians, producers and engineers. This passion for great audio quickly made Blackbird the studio of choice for artists ranging from Beck to Kenny Chesney, Sheryl Crow, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Kings of Leon, Kid Rock, The White Stripes, Taylor Swift, and many others, The Blackbird Academy carries on this tradition by renovating two of the eight studios solely for education. In addition, a purpose-built Recording Laboratory adds the perfect space for critical listening and teaching of key concepts, skills and techniques. The Recording Laboratory is a studio in itself, with an API 1608 console, Pro Tools HD, outboard gear, and live video and audio from the other studios. Students will have lab time access to all of the Academy’s facilities in addition to their regular classes.

Every year 2.8 billion humans search for the ideal combination of tools and services to help them “adapt to life anywhere.” This ever-growing number of international students, employees, virtual explorers, lifestyle travelers and others, seek to more deeply connect and succeed academically, socially and professionally. To do so, they must overcome logistical, language and cultural barriers. Apto is the only app-based culture language and travel community on the market today that offers trusted resources and services to specifically address each user’s personalized needs and evolving interests throughout each stage of their journey. Apto does this by using matching algorithms and providing robust in-app storytelling tools where community members can share their authentic experiences through videos, groups, and direct one-on-one interactions. This content and information sharing is how each community member pays it forward to the next generation. The app promotes participation in a meaningful circle of giving, receiving and sharing needed insights and resources to thrive across cultures and geographies. This applies to community members who interact virtually, are planning or are in the midst of travel or relocation. The more each member engages and transacts, the more each is rewarded within Apto’s community-driven platform with purpose. Together, the Apto community is learning to “speak human.” Fluently. Our History: Between the years of 2013 and 2019, Apto Global evolved from a service-based business helping international expats inbound to the United States, to a B2B technology learning platform helping 70+ global locations.. In late 2019, it began a direct to consumer pivot. In mid 2021, Apto re-branded and restructured to become the global app-based community that it is today, testing its early access versions on Google Play and iOS for its first major launch in 2022.
