In 2011, Arch’s CTO and Co-founder, Tim Burke, was in Tanzania trying to help rural villagers have access to clean drinking water. Previously, the focus had been on drilling new wells, but they had recently become aware of an alarming fact: 40% of existing wells are broken at any given time. To solve this, Burke and his team endeavored to build an ultra-low-cost cellular monitoring system, but the technology wasn’t there yet. In 2015, Stanford colleagues Andrew Scheuermann and Tim Burke founded Arch to provide that monitoring system, and, by 2016, wells serving up to 10,000 people were equipped in Tanzania. This problem is not unique. People all over the world recognize such opportunities and are trying to build smart, connected infrastructure yet lack the tools and resources necessary to do the job. In response, Arch Systems has grown to address this need with its cutting-edge ArchFX Platform, which is now utilized by manufacturers worldwide. Through these innovative solutions, Arch Systems enables manufacturers to enhance efficiency, minimize waste, and effectively monitor their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. Today, Arch Systems continues its mission to create a more equitable and sustainable world with intelligent data insights.

Shipup was co-founded in 2016 to enable brands to take control over the most volatile part of the customer experience —the post-purchase— so they increase brand loyalty and save support costs. Their idea was to address the paradox of e-commerce: retailers spend billions to acquire new customers while 80% of their business comes from former consumers. The loyalty of e-commerce brands is strongly correlated to the security and speed of delivery: that's why Shipup comes in. Shipup raised over 7 million funds to accelerate its international development (Europe & USA). In 2022, Shipup is acquired by Global Blue to enrich its post-purchase offering, helping retailers extend their customer journey. Based in New York and Paris, the company has over 60 employees.

Quantum computers are a revolutionizing technology — they have the potential to transform business, society, and the planet for the better, and IonQ is at the forefront of this revolution. After over 25 years of academic research, IonQ was founded in 2015 by Chris Monroe and Jungsang Kim with $2 million in seed funding from New Enterprise Associates, a license to core technology from the University of Maryland and Duke University, and the goal of taking trapped ion quantum computing out of the lab and into the market. In the following three years, we raised an additional $20 million from GV, Amazon Web Services, and NEA, and built two of the world’s most accurate quantum computers. In 2019, we raised another $55 million in a round led by Samsung and Mubadala, and announced partnerships with Microsoft and Amazon Web Services to make our quantum computers available via the cloud. In 2020 and 2021, we built additional generations of high performance quantum hardware, added Google Cloud Marketplace to our cloud partner roster and announced a series of collaborations and business partnerships with leading academic and commercial institutions. On October 1st, 2021, IonQ began trading as IONQ on the New York Stock Exchange, making it the world's first public pure-play quantum computing company. We remain hard at work realizing the world-changing potential of quantum computing.
