Job Description
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.
As a Software Engineer III - Frontend React Java Script Developer at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial Banking Technology Team, you serve as an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data collection, storage, access, and analytics in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
You will work across a wide range of products and technologies. You will have two focuses: Primarily, you will be building customer facing User Experiences using various JavaScript Single Page App technologies like React and Angular. Secondarily, you will work across the tech stack by building micro services and storing/sharing data via technologies like Cassandra and Kafka.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and write code for web/mobile using JavaScript, HTML and CSS that scale to high-volume production quality
  • Design and implement secure and robust REST APIs using technologies such as Java Spring Boot or Spring MVC
  • Participate in design sessions with fellow programmers, business analysts, and other team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution
  • Prototype creative solutions quickly, and be able to collaborate with others in crafting and implementing your technical vision
  • Contribute and collaborate in creation and consumption of open, standards-based solutions, while working with existing JPMorgan technologies and infrastructure
  • Identify opportunities for process and tool improvements and drive those from concept to implementation
  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS, OO JavaScript, JavaScript Frameworks like Angular or React on enterprise sites
  • Experience deploying applications to the cloud using AWS, Azure, or CloudFoundry
  • Excellent understanding of development concepts and SDLC methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of OOP concepts, design patterns, and continuous delivery principles
  • Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Prefer experience writing enterprise level REST/SOAP services with Java Spring MVC or Spring Boot, ASP.Net, or NodeJS
  • Familiarity with messaging frameworks like MQ and Kafka
