Graduate Process Engineer supporting refinery operations at bp’s Cherry Point facility. Responsibilities include evaluating unit targets and constraints, optimizing process plants, supervising plant development, improving energy efficiency and safety, supporting reliability efforts, and collaborating across engineering and manufacturing teams. The role includes rotations, structured technical development, and opportunities across process design, process safety, project development, operations, and commercial functions.

Supports refinery reliability and maintenance through piping layout, fluid-flow and flexibility analysis, pressure-vessel design repair, equipment troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and engineering projects. The intern works with multidisciplinary operations, maintenance, environmental, and safety teams; applies ASME, API, ANSI, and ASTM codes; and provides technical support for operating units and major maintenance events.

Participate in mechanical system design, equipment selection, specification, and engineering delivery for major energy projects. Collaborate with contractors and production staff while supporting facility integrity and bp’s health, safety, security, and environmental standards. Interns may receive offshore development opportunities requiring HUET training and a TWIC card. The 12-week program includes project assignments, mentorship, networking, training, performance reviews, housing, and potential relocation support. Successful interns may be considered for bp’s full-time One Engineering Program.

Supports the integrity, maintenance, inspection, and optimization of terminals, pipelines, tanks, pumps, and related mechanical systems. Responsibilities include piping and fluid-flow design, pressure protection, equipment troubleshooting, failure analysis, process safety, repair scope definition, construction support, commissioning, and project cost and schedule tracking. The graduate will complete engineering rotations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams supporting 24/7 midstream operations.

Supports refinery operating units and multidisciplinary engineering projects. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing fluid-flow piping systems, troubleshooting equipment failures, developing repair plans and improved designs according to industry codes, conducting engineering analyses for business decisions, and improving process efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness. The internship provides exposure to refinery processes, equipment design, maintenance events, and plant engineering fundamentals.

Provides technical support to refinery operating units and designs and leads mechanical engineering projects. Responsibilities include piping system layout, piping flexibility and fluid flow analysis, pressure vessel design and repair, equipment troubleshooting, root-cause failure analysis, maintenance support, and applying ASME, API, ANSI, and ASTM codes. Works with multidisciplinary operations, maintenance, environmental, and safety teams to improve cost effectiveness, efficiency, reliability, and technological competitiveness.

Supports refinery operations through mechanical engineering analysis, equipment troubleshooting, piping system design, stress and flexibility analysis, root-cause investigations, repair planning, and improved equipment designs. Collaborates with operations, maintenance, environmental, and safety teams while applying engineering fundamentals and industry codes. Interns also perform analyses supporting financial decisions and help improve process efficiency, cost effectiveness, and competitiveness.

Supports process engineering projects for upstream production, including plant design, development supervision, operational optimization, reliability, and technical decision-making. The 12-week hybrid internship may include offshore development opportunities requiring HUET training and a valid TWIC card. Interns receive project-based experience, mentorship, networking, and performance development, with successful participants potentially considered for bp’s One Engineering Program.
