Provide legal counsel on privacy and HIPAA compliance, lead privacy investigations, review contracts and data-sharing agreements, draft policies and regulations, conduct risk assessments and training, and advise internal stakeholders on data governance and IT-related legal issues.

Review, verify, and update fingerprint-based criminal history records in the Patrol Criminal History (PCH) database for accuracy and dissemination. Process criminal and non-criminal records, perform background checks, handle teletype record checks, communicate with law enforcement and the public, and maintain database integrity per state statute and CJIS requirements.

Perform internal audits of Nebraska Department of Revenue processes, primarily tax incentives; review procedures, verify reports and supporting data, test controls and benefits, recommend improvements, support external audits, and audit applicants for tax incentives to ensure compliance with statutes and agency policies.

Analyze and adjudicate unemployment benefit claims, process appeals, investigate overpayments, interview claimants, maintain and update claimant records, perform data entry, and support UI program operations and hearings per Nebraska law and agency procedures.

Perform in-field and in-office audits of IFTA and IRP for interstate carriers. Analyze mileage and fuel records, determine correct taxes and fees, prepare audit files and work papers, direct audit team activities, use computerized accounting systems, testify in hearings, and complete special projects. Position requires travel and public-facing communication.

Develops, maintains, and conducts retirement and employer training seminars and related curricula; creates video content and publications; schedules seminars and coordinates instructors; reviews plan changes and legislation; evaluates educational resources; provides graphic design backup; performs substantial overnight in-state travel.
