As a Yocto Project developer with our partner, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, working closely with our engineering department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, customize, and maintain embedded Linux distributions using the Yocto Project framework. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our connected vehicle systems.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain Yocto Project-based Linux distributions tailored to our specific requirements.
  • Customize and enhance existing Yocto layers and recipes to meet our evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with the development team to seamlessly integrate third-party software into Yocto builds.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Yocto builds and runtime, ensuring smooth operation of our systems.
  • Optimize the build system for performance and efficiency, implementing best practices.
  • Document the build process meticulously and maintain a repository of custom layers and recipes.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in the Yocto Project community, evaluating new features for potential implementation.

What you will need

  • Strong understanding of Linux kernel, drivers, and application development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills.

What would make us REALLY love you

  • Proven experience with the Yocto Project and embedded Linux development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
