Xpert: BI Analyst (KPI assurance and data quality)

Summary

BI analyst required to assure KPI accuracy and consistency across a complex SAP and Microsoft reporting landscape. You’ll reconcile KPI results across BI platforms, investigate discrepancies end to end, and provide clear evidence for engineering teams to resolve issues quickly. Success in this role would be that KPIs reconcile with traceability, variances are isolated quickly, and reporting confidence increases.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile KPIs across BI tools (including SAC and Power BI) and confirm trusted results.
• Investigate variances across source data, transformations, warehouse models, semantic models, and reports.
• Run data quality checks (control totals, counts, duplicates, missing keys, grain and aggregation, master data consistency, refresh timing and late-arriving data).
• Validate BI model and report behaviour (measure logic, relationships, filters, row-level security, refresh and incremental loads).
• Produce evidence packs and log clear defects for handover to data and BI engineering teams.

Essential skills and experience

• Strong SQL for reconciliation and root-cause analysis.
• Advanced Power BI (or equivalent) and strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
• Experience in multi-system BI environments, with an evidence-led, structured approach.
• 5+ years in BI analyst, analytics QA, or BI testing roles, with proven KPI reconciliation experience.

SAP enterprise data environment (required)

• Practical exposure to SAP analytics landscapes, including BW/4HANA and SAC, plus SAP source systems (for example S/4HANA and operational modules).
• Ability to explain how SAP source data and BW logic affects downstream KPI outputs.
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric (or similar) is advantageous.
