Salary: £52,000 approx per annum plus performance bonus, company van or car/car cash allowance, private medical cover, pension and many other Veolia benefits.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Location: Southwark, London

What you'll be doing;

  • Ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are met in line with company policies, including responsibility for the auditing, supervision and control of subcontractors who work internally on or off site.
  • Responsible for the financial P&L’s for two workshops (Bromley & Dover) ensuring full cost control at all times.
  • Ensuring DVSA compliance standards are maintained at all times and inline with company policy.
  • Be responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to the internal fleet of 100+ vehicles and plant, throughout their economic lifetime, ensuring that agreed levels of vehicle resources are available to all customers.
  • Be responsible for providing KPI data to operational and transport managers, and or appointed transport associates within the Veolia network.
  • Managing Technicians including performance, productivity and being responsible for quality control and appraisals for all workshop staff including administration and stores.
  • Manage an effective procurement and supplier management process for vehicle parts and external repairs, delivering an efficient cost effective fleet solution.
  • Holding monthly engagement meetings with Contract/Operations managers producing written minutes and actions.

What we're looking for;

  • City & Guilds, HNC or ONC in vehicle maintenance.
  • In depth knowledge of a wide range of vehicles and yellow plant.
  • Robust knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • A natural leader with a proven track record in successful workshop supervision.
  • LGV Licence an advantage - desirable.
  • CPC in Road Transport Management (or willing to work towards)
  • Experience with managing challenging situations within the workplace, along with holding employee performance review meetings, whilst identifying talent and promoting development of staff.
