About the Role:
For our Munich location we are looking for a working student (m/f/x) in the area Automation Tool Development in Active Safety Domain for a maximum of 20 hours/week, during the lecture-free period up to 40 hours/week are possible.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of AI-based proof-of-concepts in the field of Active Safety Engineering
- Contribute to the development of prototypes with a strong focus on automation and data-driven analysis
- Assist in the end-to-end implementation of prototypes, including data preparation, model training, evaluation, and deployment scripting
- Collaborate closely with system and software engineers as well as product teams to derive practical and scalable solutions
- Support the documentation of architectures, results, and key learnings from the PoC activities
- Participate in regular reviews, presentations, and demonstrations of proof-of-concepts
- Contribute to the evaluation of new AI technologies, tools, and frameworks and assess their potential applicability
Who we are looking for:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Initial practical experience with AI/ML projects, e.g., through a project in a computer science lab or similar program.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and Scikit-Learn.
- Knowledge of data processing (Pandas, NumPy) and basic machine learning workflows (data preprocessing, training, evaluation).
- Experience with experiment tracking and versioning (e.g., MLflow, DVC, Git).
- Experience with AI Moldes like Claude, GPT, containerized environments (Docker).
- Ability to analyze complex problems, think creatively, and communicate results persuasively.
- Good English skills. German knowledge is a plus.
