Job DescriptionWe are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Working Student to support our FP&A and Controlling team. The role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, who is eager to gain hands-on experience in financial operations and planning. You will play a key role in supporting invoice processing, monthly close processes, variance analysis, and ad-hoc financial tasks. This role will be based in Berlin, where Omio’s FP&A and Controlling team is located.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Invoice Approval Support: Review incoming invoices for accuracy and alignment with contracts, purchase orders, and budget allocations; assist with approval workflows in financial systems.
Month-End Close Assistance: Help the team compile and verify financial data during the month-end closing cycle, including booking accruals and verifying entries.
Flash vs. Actuals Auditing: Support the reconciliation and review of flash forecasts versus actual financial results; identify and investigate variances post-close.
Reporting Support: Assist in preparing regular and ad-hoc financial reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Data Validation and Controls: Participate in quality checks, ensuring data consistency between source systems and reporting tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Procurement, Accounting, and Budget Owners to resolve discrepancies and align on financial procedures.
Administrative Support: Help with scheduling meetings, preparing presentation materials, and documenting procedures where needed.
Learning & Development: Engage with the FP&A team to develop a foundational understanding of corporate finance, planning, and analysis.

Qualifications & Experience:
Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
First experience through internships or working student roles in Finance is a plus.
Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Workday) is a plus.
Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
Reliable, organized, and able to handle sensitive financial data with integrity.
Knowledge & Skills:
Good understanding of basic accounting and finance principles.
Strong numerical and data analysis skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Curious, eager to learn, and proactive in taking on new tasks.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
