Job Responsibilities:
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Government Affairs function within Magna International leads and manages workforce development funding opportunities on behalf of the corporation with key public stakeholders at the local, state, federal and international government levels.
Government Affairs intern will develop important skills and experience as they work on the planning, development, and implementation of projects on behalf of the corporation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Maintain workforce development agreement files (which should include the original agreement, all amendments to the agreement, and copies of all correspondence relating to the agreements)• Work with the Workforce Development team to ensure compliance with workforce development agreements• Prepares grant applications and plans to receive funding for various workforce training programs• Assist the Workforce Development team with special projects• Prepare agreement summaries for workforce development projects• Prepare offer summaries for new workforce development incentive projects
QUALIFICATIONS:• Related experience preferred• Course work in Public Policy, Planning, Workforces, or Community Development• Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter, and ability to work independently• Familiarity with governments• Familiarity with or interest in sustainability
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE• High School Diploma• Currently Attending a College or University
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:• Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)• Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)• Strong technical and analytical competence in select areas of technology.• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Power Point)•
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:• Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
