The Workforce Development Coordinator will play an essential role in scaling up LACI’s workforce development efforts leading up to the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics in anticipation of the increase in demand for a skilled green workforce. This position will play a key role in participant outreach and recruitment, program execution, data collection, and case management, all with the goal of engaging more historically marginalized communities in high-road green career pathways.

About LACI’s Green Jobs Workforce Programs: LACI’s Green Jobs Workforce Programs are a multi-tiered workforce training pipeline program that provides technical training, professional development, and industry-recognized certifications to help historically marginalized groups succeed in the green economy. Select participants in the program are matched with LACI startups and partners for internships and potential job opportunities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Outreach & Recruitment: Collaborate with departments across LACI and build external ecosystem partners to expand participant outreach and recruitment (by identifying & attending career fairs and hosting info sessions), as we aim to recruit 150 participants across all of our green workforce programs for 2025.
  • Intake and Data Collection: Collect and create applications and assessments in SMApply and ensure participant data and demographics are consistently captured in our Salesforce CRM system (e.g. enrollment applications, education and income verification, resumes, and all survey data).
  • Case Management: Input case notes into Salesforce CRM and coordinate with case managers to ensure participants’ short-term and long-term goals are met throughout the program.
  • Program Support and Execution: Support the Workforce Development Team in delivering successful green workforce development programs, including but not limited to providing stipend documentation for Green Jobs Workforce Fellowship and Green Jobs Training Courses.

  • Event Coordination: Assist Workforce Development Sr Manager with any workforce development events planning, execution, and logistics.

Why You’re Right for the Job:

  • You’re not afraid to get up in front of a crowd. Public speaking makes everyone a little nervous, but as a trainer - you’ve faced that fear time and time again. It’s just part of doing what you love.
  • You’re super organized. In fact, your organization, attention to detail and time management skills are award-worthy! (Color-coded Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables, anyone?)
  • You care about people. This is reflected in your expert listening and problem solving skills, as well as your natural orientation toward putting the customer’s needs first.
  • You’re willing to go the extra mile. You’re a go-getter and self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • You’re adaptable. You can flex comfortably between working independently with limited supervision, and operating fluidly within a dynamic team environment.

Requirements:

Basically, we want to know you can get the job done. This means you have:

  • 1-3 years of case management, customer service, or training experience with underserved populations (preferably with Career Technical Training and Vocational Programs)
  • Existing relationships with community-based organizations and workforce development programs

  • Experience with data tracking and compliance
  • Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, SMApply and CRM System (e.g. Salesforce)
