WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Workforce Acquisition Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for supporting talent acquisition initiatives and programs for the agency, including working with the Workforce Acquisition Manager, the recruiting team, and the hiring managers with identifying qualified candidates (internal and external), being innovative with the creation of human resources initiatives, and facilitating the onboarding processes for new hires.
- Partner with program leaders and Human Resources (HR) to forecast agency needs and assist with the recruitment/selection process for program assignments
- Identify potential sources of applicants and create relationships to fill our candidate pipelines
- Assist programs with the sourcing of candidates through employee referrals, job boards, social media presence, ad searches, career fairs, internet research, and direct contact
- Build a strong brand image and foster trust between the public and the brand
- Coordinate all onboarding activities from offer through start date, including offer letters, new hire documents, background screenings, pre-service paperwork, and Human Resources Information System personnel setup.
- Ensure onboarding documents are accurate and complete. Coordinate and track receipt of onboarding documents, background screening results, and reference checks
- Connect with candidates on a regular basis to develop and maintain relationships, expand industry knowledge, and generate referrals and leads
- Stay abreast of current recruiting trends and recommend creative strategies to meet hiring goals
- Collaborate with HR and employee committees to identify opportunities and implement initiatives to retain high-performing talent
- Partner with volunteer management services to provide staffing support as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in talent acquisition
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human services, public administration, or any related job industry, preferred.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Experience using Human Resources Information System
- Experience in performing employment screenings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to clearly present information and respond effectively to questions from managers and staff.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
